How Far Can You Go with Signup Discounts on a Throwaway Secondary Prepaid Sim Number?

Stuff you can buy by signing up with a new #

Lunch savings:

  • Guzman, free burito credit

  • Sign up for stacked, get $5 (used to be $10, boo) credit on an order, and sign up for my birthday to be in the next week or so (a free bowl, yay).

  • Can sign up for Maccas and get $1 deals (no longer a Big Mac) if looking to save a few bucks on burger or chips

  • $5 sign up credit for Oporto rewards, sign up for my birthday in the next couple of weeks.

Common retail stuff:

  • DJs has a $10 reward sign up (but you need to wait up to 24 hours to get it ahead of time), but that just requires a new email address, for now.

  • Sign up to Amazon with a new email account and phone number and get free prime shipping for 1 month (then cancel and close the Amazon account)

  • Sign up for JB Hi-Fi $10 perks, usually can use the same number twice within the space of a few weeks. After that, can't sign up because the number's "been used" too much.

  • Ritual app. Share the referral link between your main # and second #, $5-$10 credit each side

Surely, I'm missing free stuff with a new number, what other good ones are missing?

This is kind of the play:
Wait until coles in store has 4$ lebara sim cards (4gb for a month), or usually Amaysim for 6$ (for the first month). Buy a couple.
    Total outlay up to 6$.

It's going to blow your mind when you learn about Boost Mobile Cashback deals via Cashrewards 😁

    • Be gentle, OP just signed up today. It is not a bad achievement without OZB discussion.

You posted this here will surely speed up the closing down of these offers. Have you thought about that?

So mad you made an account just to say this

Fair point, I could edit/delete if people feel strongly? Never the goal to cause anger.

Though personally I don't see how most of them can shut down these incentives as most been around a long time, and there's really not much way around them not offering incentives from their marketing divisions?

They try to keep the loopholes closed by asking for the unique phone # obviously.

How Far Can You Go with Signup Discounts on a Throwaway Secondary Prepaid Sim Number?

You go until, inevitably, other things in life become more important than hacking your way to an UberEats discount, when you're wise enough to realise that you're better off spending that time on family, hobbies, leisure, even your work or a side hustle.

    • I noticed Uber/eats, doordash etc…. they all log your phone's IMEI or serial number or whatever phone ID.

I have 1 sim and 1 esim on my phone and uber and doordash both blocked my 2nd new account on my phone denying any new customer deals.

But I have a housemate, she has 1 sim and 1 esim as well and same thing, we tried the 2nd new account on the same phone and it denied the 2nd account for discounts, even going further as doordash sending an e-mail to the 2nd account saying it's "under investigation" because we tried so many discounts but didn't work.

I had a friend come over, she never used door dash so I signed up with her number, my alt email and ordered on her phone and it new customer deal worked.

      • I think they tie your uniqueness to your apple/google store username.

However, from my experience anywa, the ones offering free stuff seem to lose "memory" after x months and often the deal works again (with a new sim in the phone) if you redownload the app after a long period of time. I use physical sims, not esims, no idea if that makes any differnece.

Seems like too much effort, especially since some of these don't require a phone number (McDonald's, hungry jacks), have poor value (what does $5 buy these days), have minimum spend (ok if you were planning to shop there anyway) or ban you if you overuse (JB hi fi perks). If it was Boost with cashback or Kogan esim which is free/$2 sim I'd understand as they give 40gb-50gb, 4gb is kinda pointless, just but a $1 sim instead. And the Burrito places that give free burrito is kinda okay but unless it is in close proximity to work/home, or they are clumped up in one location, better off sticking to $1 McDonald's/HJ $1 whoppers.

    • It is too much effort for most, I get that. Guess that's why they keep these offers.

Some of these incentives are pretty foolish imho. Used the perks one about 30x in the last year for odd small purchases. How can they ban you if you use a different phone #, email and IP address and cash payment method? And just keep visiting stores in person to use.

Op get your grandma and grandpas I'd.

As well. Also any uncles or aunty's that don't mind.

Also there is a five year time lag for deceased individuals

  • My two cents: sign up for let's ride and your can have a few free rides for birthday
