Similar to the previous one which already expired. not sure how long it's free. used to be $2.99 last i checked and now it's free. Enjoy!

Very much recommended - especially for my GoPro MP4 videos that somehow wouldn't play in the stock standard video player.

  • Thanks - will see how it stacks up when comparing with ECplayer

    • Much more better than ECplayer. Great find!

Is this better than the VLC app?
Yes I got it when it was available.

    • i got it too.. best app evr

    • i'd love the answer to this question, as a person who never got the VLC app when it was available :(

      • You can still get it and install it if you jailbreak.

    • As someone who also got the VLC app when it was avaliable, this is definitely better. This allows you to also play HD movies where as it would lag using the old VLC player.

the good thing about this player is that it plays 720 1080p videos in "hardware decoding", which results in super smooth playback compared to other players ive tried

    • does anybody know if hardware decoding uses more power than the usual software decoding?

  • What's better, this or FlexPlayer?

  • Given that's free - u can give it a try and then let us know

  • Would be perfect if it worked with DLNA servers.

  • wow works perfectly… best app! save me time converting files that are only compatible to iphone (which i have never done cos it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R!)

    • maybe you should get a i7 3770 for your computer with some more RAM and an SSD no converting will take F-O-R-E-V-E-R! again.

  • Why would anyone waste time converting video for an iphone or ipad these days???
I have been using 'AV player HD' (same as this app, but not free) for over a year now, with 100% of videos I have tried playing flawlessly.

  • Are you able to wirelessly stream video over wifi (a la air video) to your device using this app or do you have to do a physical wifi transfer?

  • Wow it plays APE!!!
    WIFI upload! This is cool!!!
    Thank you very much!!!

  • i get the option to choose HARDWARE ENCODING AND SOFTWARE ENCODING once i hit the thumbnail to play the video, anyone here knows whats the difference? previously i chose software encoding the video tends to spike a lot/unsmooth…
p/s: anyway, certainly worth a vote good job OP!

  • Been using 'Anyplayer' for over a year now working well, in case anyone wants to compare the two… http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/anyplayer/id457896289?mt=8

  • Cheers OP. Girlfriend will like this.

  • This program has nothing on BUZZ HD… its 99c atm and it absolutly molests this app.

    Maybe i should explain why
    - USB and wifi upload options
    - SMB streaming/sharing
    - DLNA streaming/sharing
    - Allows the user to creat playlists and folders.
    - streams 720p on ipad 3 just fine.

    • Unable to find it. Link please?

Everyone should just jailbreak and install XBMC best player on IOS hands down! SMB, subtitle, sound offlay, audio switching and a whole lot more!

    • I say buy an Android tablet if you feel the need to screw around with it. There are perfectly good apps for nix on the ipad to do just about anything you really need…

    • Thanks, will have to check XBMC out.
I am not touching iOS 6 until it can be jailbroken.

  • FlexPlayer is far and away the smoothest free movie player I've used. Yet to find a file it can't handle.

Wow, my timing sucks. This deal's now over. I saw this, searched the app store and found it listed as free. Tapped on GPlayer in the list for the actual info page and $2.99 again. Doh.

  • pity, just expired…

    • yeah, I missed out too.
