Activate ANZ Credit Card

Hi Guys, I recently got the ANZ platinum card with Pointshack offer. I got the application approved and received the card yesterday, however, I am having a hard time activating the card. I downloaded the anz app but it asks me to put in the customer registration number. I checked all the paperwork but never received any CRN number. I tried calling in the 133350/132273 but it doesn’t put me through and gets me disconnected.
P.S I am not an existing customer.

    Exact same thing happened to me 3 months back.

    My memory is a bit foggy but I had to call up to get the CRN. It was either 13 33 50 or 1800 652 033 (according to my phone logs). I was on the line with the 1800 number for 42 minutes so it was probably that one.

    It was a pain in the ass as well as I was told that I needed to verify my identity, which I previously done online. So they transferred me to the verifications team which told me that I was already verified.

    So then they transferred me back to the activations team where I finally I got someone competent who managed to finalise setting up the account and gave me my CRN over the phone.

    So yeah, that's my experience. Hopefully yours isn't as bad. Good luck!

    • I am trying to use the phone verification but it doesn’t give an option to verify without the PIN which I haven’t setup. I don’t have the CRN number either.
      Pretty annoying that you are not able to proceed to talk to anyone and it’s stuck in a loop.

      • I just tried calling the 1800 and after while of it looping it would go sorry I'll put you on with someone who can assist you with activating your card. I didn't enter my card number or anything.

          The same thing happened. They were not able to identify my details online. Will go in branch tomorrow to fix it :(

    sounds like you never banked with ANZ prior so just go into the Bank

    Getting card activated is only 1 step

    You will need to setup APP/web banking which required CRN which card activating does not give you

    • Exactly my concern. How would you get a CRN number? I tried the website to register for Internet banking but it either asks me for a telecode or PIN which hasn’t been setup

        Their whole process/instructions seems to be geared to credit card for Existing ANZ customers
        I just went into the bank and let the clerk sort everything out at once all at once
        Got the phone app working and from that you internet banking is much easier process too

        • Yes. Same for me. Had to go in to fix it.

  • Just give them a call and they will give you CRN, you need to wait a good 1 to 2 hours to be responded though.

    • In this case, I never received CRN number in card kit. Such a weird way that they send you the card but not the details to link your card to an account. Will visit the branch tomorrow and update :)

        • I did. I tried but it doesn’t work. You also need the app pin or telco code along with that which I don’t have.

  • What time did you call?
    13 22 73, 8am-8pm (AEST) weekdays or 8am-6pm (AEST) weekends

    • Apparently I did during business hours but due to some reason they were not able to identify my details online. Will have to visit the Bank and see how i go :(

  • I've applied for a QFF card with them last week and still awaiting approval after 5 business days, sent my supporting documents, payslips etc last week too. Anybody had experience with the same and know the correct number to contact? All my correspondence just say to email them for support but obviously they don't reply to that…

      Just visit the bank mate. They will setup in a few minutes

  • I signed up to OzBargain just to post I had the same issue and now stuck on the phone for over an hour trying to get my CRN number which was not sent in the letters I received or the card.

    • Go to the ANZ branch. Quick and easy

    • You will need to go your local ANZ branch.

      They will need to verify your ID with anz if you do not have any anz account
      They will activate the card for you
      then they will generate a NEW CRN number and provide you with Tele code (Valid for 24 hours only) if you do not already have one.
      you will then set up your app with CRN and Tele code and
      change or setup the pin in the app

      P.S You can not activate a corporate card in branch (has to be done over the phone first)

  • lol same thing here. If you call and talk to their automated system and ask with help finding your CRN it tells you to get it from the app and hangs up on you. Hard to get it from the app when you can't login to the app cause you don't have a CRN!

    Hopelessly bad customer experience, it's like they don't want customers.

  • ANZ are terrible. I was approved and received my card in the mail. Tried to activate but failed. They put a hold on the card pending more proof of income. Why approve in the first place if they still required more information?
