  • I've seen them trying to clear this olive oil a few times. Never got around to actually trying it. Has anyone ever tried this stuff?

Must admit I probably couldn't tell the difference between a good olive oil and a not so good one. Nice bottle though.

    • I bought one but I have an open bottle of oil at the moment so haven’t tried it yet. With Costco if you don’t like it you can take it back.

      • As much as that is a thing, I don't think I'd take food or similar stuff back if I don't like it. There would have to be something seriously wrong with it for me to return food. Costco is pretty far away from us too so that is also a factor.

        • I saw a guy once return a single eggplant 🍆 at Costco.

Why would someone buy stale olive oil that travelled all the way from Italy instead of fresh Australian Olive oil for $10/litre

    • olive oil at $10/litre? What land of make believe are you in?

    • Nothing beats Aus EVOO except for Palestinian EVOO.

You wont find either for less than $25/litre and thats if your buying at least 15L

    • Hmmm. How long does your olive oil bottle last once you open it? I don’t know about you but mine is, at least, a couple of months. I don’t think the travel from Italy is a big problem.

      • A week.

        • FFS do you drink the stuff? How big are your bottles of oil?

          • @try2bhelpful: One litre per week. Family of four and we mainly eat at home and cook most our meals in it.
Plus extra drizzle on bread, avo, pasta etc. (and we are all correct weight for our height).

            • @MakkhiChoos: That is still a lot of oil per week. I’m not sure what the food pyramid would say about that.

  • Same price here at Costco Epping. Didn’t show any sale tag, just normal price.

Aldi sells 4lt Aussie olive oil for $27-29-ish

I opened and tried this. paired this with sourdough & $150/btl balsamic

Its okay, good fruity flavour, good fragrance, not alot of spiciness.

my usual is from an Italian deli which is much more intense fruity flavour and spiciness, shame they have a limited supply and runs out almost instantly when they get stock.

    • That be the problem. Somethings good then others track it down. Maybe you could talk them into a subscription service :)
