          • @benwaffle: But then you lose value LOL

            Online prepaid credit cards are so easy to track

            I just don't pay for alot in-store, it's weird I do everything online lol

            I spose I can use it to buy food and drinks at the pub on grand final day.

            Hopefully easy enough to check what's left on the card :/

            • @[Deactivated]: If you're happy to check the balance of prepaid MasterCard and visa cards then you won't have any trouble with checking the balance of these eftpos cards

              • @benwaffle: Yeah, that's not an issue.

                I was only considering this, because I currently can't flip anymore cards and I'm only 50,000 points from PC+

                But of decided to give it a pass, it's not worth the tiny amount of points

  • @WookieMonster when do you think next time we will see Coles 10% discount credit card would come in NSW?

    • Maybe in a few weeks? No idea, to be honest.

  • I got a 10x Booster in my Everday Rewards account for EFTPOS card. Is this separate from this promotion?

    • It's the same promotion and you don't need to activate it. They occasionally promote the weekly gift card offers in the app.

      • Same here and showing same points 2 times.

  • I tried to buy 2x $500 of these in one transaction at a serviced check-out. Neither the customer service person nor the supervisor could get it to work. In the end they were able to process a $500 card and a $499 card even though, with the fees, the total cost was over $1000.

    • +1

      Thats what people have found out from the Ultimate promo last week too. Seems like 500+499 is the only way to go now.

      • yep. same bought 4 over 2 seperate transactions of 500 and 499 each.

        • did you got points 10.000 points for both?

          • +1

            @ivyholmes: I got 9,990 which is what I expected, 10x500 + 10x499.

            • @gizzard: 10 x or 1 x?

              • +1

                @googoogaga: Sorry, I don't understand. The deal is 10x points. I bought a $500 card so 10x500 = 5000 and a $499 card so 10x499= 4990, totalling 9,990 points.

                • +1

                  @gizzard: sorry I read it as 10 * $500 cards instead of 10 x 500 points. My bad.

  • I tried to use this to pay council rate at post office. Transaction declined. Staff told me that government stuff does not allow gift card.
    If this is the case, what kind of transactions does it have advantages over a credit card with decent earning rate such as ANZ Qantas black?

      The best 'value' from these cards is buying with an amex plat edge to get the 3 MR per $

      I find these cards very good for medical/health appointments, restaurants that charge a surcharge for visa/mc, and Aldi / Costco groceries

    • this is crazy omg that this card cant be used in post office

      • It can but not ALL post offices. Some seem to have blocked it.

  • Annoying. Just purchased this today. My card definitely got scanned but transaction wasn’t recognized to my account due to probably technical difficulties they were having. I called up and they said they will manually process the points but I have to wait 2 weeks just in case it comes through by itself. From past experience if it hasn’t come through by now it never will but they still want me to wait 2 weeks before contacting them again

  • Yes, I'm fortunate to have an Edge and always use that for direct supermarket shopping when I can't use a gift card.

  • I've tried multiple times for the 500 + 499 in one single transaction on a self service terminal and the 2nd card never shows up on screen after the staff member swipes their barcode. What am I doing wrong?

    • You're going to a self service terminal. I always go to the service desk area and let them process it.

    • It should show up. I never had a problems buying 500+499 at self serve. Anyone with a barcode can approve it at self serve whereas some junior staff can no longer sell at a serviced checkout without using the barcode of a more senior one.
