Google Pixel 7 for $650, 7a for $637, or wait for the Pixel 8 to be released?

I've currently got an old/worn Pixel 4a5g which will go out of support in November 2023 … so am in the market for a new phone sometime in the next few months.

I've got a voucher to get a Google Pixel 7 for $650, and the 7a for $636, which seems a good price. The voucher expires the end of September 2023.

Should I pull the trigger now, or wait to see what happens when the Pixel 8 is announced?

Just an FYI Google Pixel 7 128GB was as low as $499 from Telstra, although most people would consider that a unicorn deal, it's highly possible it might return to that price post P8 release.

    • Thankyou, that helps put the current 35% discount offer I have in to perspective! Even the outright price with Telstra for the Pixel 7 is $699, which is not too far off the $650 deal I have.

You have to ask the question yourself I suppose… Will you be buying the 8 at it’s release price (they might have pre order bonus like before but dont know for sure). But if you will be waiting for a price drop of that as well might as well buy 7 at these prices

I was in the same boat and got a 7 Pro for just under $900 and I love it. The camera is miles better than the 4a 5G.

  • Why don't you get it for cheaper via the jb trade in deal?
Find some cheap old phone put a claim in. You don't even have to send it?

Just say sorry I changed my mind but you would have already used the voucher.

    • They put the value of the trade in as a credit hold against the card you used in case people don't send the phone in

      • Just what it's valued at, not the value plus $300

      • Yep, but I don't mind handing back the trade-in value as long as I get to keep the $300 bonus (which you do). Just did this for my wife's new phone

        • What did you trade in that got you $300? My S10e (cracked back) only netted me $10!

@wittyusername: You would get $10 trade in credit for your s10e on top of the $300 bonus.

Use the tade in code to claim the $10 credit, and the $300 bonus will then e automatically applied

Once you receive the phone, email the third party running the trade in that youd prefer to keep the phone. All they'll charge you is $10
