  • Bought one from Target about a month ago-my X Max works well with a Optus-owned MVNO, amaysim SIM.

Less than $250 as it should be. No phone deserves more than $250.

    • $500 tops for a good one :)

  • Any ideas on cost to unlock?

Have you recharged your service to a minimum / accumulated amount of $80.00?

Yes: There is no fee to network unlock your handset
No: How long has your service been active?
Less than 6 months: There is an $80 fee
More than 6 months: There is a $25 fee

    • Does it have to be 100% Optus or could it be one of reseller brands?

      • Someone said above that it works with amaysim for sure.

  • Plan to get a spare phone with nfc due to apple wallet failure with all blackhawk gc. Will this phone still work without any sim, or when the prepaid expires? Sorry never used prepaid locked phone before.

Of course, it will still work with WiFi even if there is no simcard in it. "Locked to Optus" just means you need Optus/Optus-powered simcard (for example, amaysim) to use it with a simcard.
