  • Fwiw we had one of these and competent to the Logitech circleview it wasn’t great. Poor quality video. No HDR. Would avoid.

    • may I know where can I buy the Logitech one?

Hey, I had to order one off Amazon US because they don’t sell them in Australia. That said it’s worth it. Native HomeKit and up time has been 100%

I have this installed at my house.
Just to note that the camera is horizontal widescreen instead of vertical.
Depends on your preference, but in my usage I can't see packages left on my front door because if the limited vertical field of view.
Also this supports DC power supply while most other smart doorbell are AC only.

      Turn it sideways?

  • Just bought it :) been waiting for a deal

  • For me i feel like it Amazon price matching with JB

Reolink PoE or wifi version is a better buy.

    • Yes, I agree - but only if you don't need Homekit, and can run wiring to your doorbell location as the Reolink doesn't have a battery.

    • Cable, cable. That's the difference.

I have this after initially having the Eufy Doorbell. While the picture quality isn’t as good as the Eufy (no HDR and narrower vertical field of view) it is SUPER fast to view live video, works perfectly with Apple Homekit and HomeKit secure video and is very reliable. It’s also really good in having 2 way audio wth whoever is ringing your doorbell, something that the Eufy was completely shit at due to significant lag.

For me a doorbell’s primary function is to “answer the door” so the number 1 feature needs to be reliability, fast notification someone is ringing and no lag 2 way audio and this is one of the best out there.

    Definitely would recommmend.

    • Thanks. that's something I have been waiting to hear. As have been thinking between this & eufy for a while. Have Eufy camera's but wanted something reliable and fast. Cameras are great, but for doorbell need that 2 way comms & fast response

I wish they had homeassistant support.

Your situation is same as mine. I have half a dozen Eufy cameras and love them. But the Eufy doorbell while super fast at notifications, great image quality and great at recording like a security camera, it was almost unusable as a doorbell with 2 way communication. The lag was very annoying and you could only do half duplex.

  • Have this for about 5 months and it's good so far
    1. Horizontal angles is a bummer but that means lowered installation
    2. Video quality is good but I don't know how other brands are
    3. The annoying thing is config - I found it complicated setup and alerts

  • Have had this for 6 months now (in HomeKit mode only and running on batteries).

    Pros:
    - easy to setup
    - looks great
    - doorbell functionality works great
    - doorbell exposed to HomeKit as an automation too
    - don’t need to signup to Aqara account (which would give Aqara access to diagnose and fix device remotely, which I didn’t like the sound of)

    Cons:
    - video quality not that great with bright backlighting (common for doorways)
    - video field of view not that great
    - video detection (people, parcel or anything) is really bad. I have another Aqara camera (G2H) pointed at the same spot and the doorbell triggers only 1 out of the 20 instances the other camera detects movement. I honestly wouldn’t rely on it motion detection at all.

I’m hoping to return the product back to JB Hi-Fi.

  • Heaps of Aqara range is discounted on JB and Amazon

  • +1

I know it's a bit late now but during the Bing Lee sale last night the aqara range were sale prices less 12% coupon, 17% shop back and bonus 15% westpac. Picked up the doorbell, shutter control and hub for $199 after cash backs.
