Yep, have been playing on the PS5 and Steam Deck since launch up until a month or two ago. The game has some good aspects though can also be really grindy.

This is the first review I saw on the store, crazy that prices have gone up. It's a shame they made this a predatory F2P game, we don't have that many kart racers and I'd have bought it for around $30 if there was no microtransactions.
Disney Speedstorm has two sides: A good kart racer on one side, but an extremely predatory pay-to-win micro transaction hell on the other side. If you just look at Speedstorm for its racing gameplay, yes, its a good kart racer that is fun. But if you look at literally anything else the game just isn't good. The prices for racer and crew shards are just absolutely absurd. $30 for 10x shards which isn't even enough for the characters unique is wild. And not to mention the FOMO is through the roof. Its worse than any other game I have ever played. If you miss out on previous season racers, you have to endure a gacha box that skews your chances of getting the racer you desire.
TLDR: FOMO, gacha, pay-to-win, but a good kart racer at its core.
Edit: With the release of F2P, pay-to-win seems to have gotten worse. Some of the prices got an increase. You can play Speedstorm, but just don't spend any money on it. Speak with your wallet!

You've obviously added the PS5 only version to your account. That won't allow a download on the PS4. Basically it won't let you try and play a PS5 only game on a PS4, it's incompatible.
This is the PS4 version. It's got it's own web page with own version. You've got to add it separately to the account if you've got a PS4.

Basically there's the PS5 version which the OP linked to. And the PS4 version which i just gave a web link to.
But the PS4 version was also listed further down (with an add to library button) on the PS5 version page under Editions. You get to chose either the PS5 or PS4 versions. All you had to do was scroll down a little tiny bit and you would have seen it.
That's why i always check the details first and not blindingly add it to the account. As some times there can be separate PS4 and PS5 edition releases for games with their own web page releases. This is one of those.

Highly underrated game. Surprisingly a lot of similarities with F1 racing. As in, whoever has the most money invested in their car wins.

My daughter loves Mario Kart and would lose her mind with a Disney kart racer… I'd happily pay $30 for this game and even buy princess DLC but zero chance of installing with the Gotcha mechanics.

I think it's more the element of she'll want the Frozen princess or whatever and you need to buy loot boxes to maybe have a chance of getting that character.
I used to play Gameloft's My Little Pony game, until I calculated the time it would take to earn one of the main characters would be literally years or hundreds of dollars, it was shocking!
