Robot Vaccum Recommendations

Hello, I'm looking to replace my current robot vacuum which is a 1st gen vacuum only Xiaomi model.

What is a good brand/price for similar? Xiaomi no longer sells this model or the 2nd gen one either. I paid around $300 brand new about 5 years ago. Don't really need any special features like mapping or mopping as its only one level floor and no carpet, just laminate floorboards. We do have pets which shed, so needs to be able to pick up that.

Thank you.

A pity you missed out on this deal on the Dreame D9

    • It only stopped working properly this week :(
For some reason it goes around and around in circles so no longer cleaning whole floor. Need to know if it can be fixed

      • Have you tried wiping down and cleaning all of the sensors?

        • No i haven't i will try that, thank you for the suggestion

        Are both wheels working?
        Sounds like 1 is not.
They're a bit annoying to open up, 50 odd screws, but fairly easy if you have the patience and follow a guide that shows you the location of all the screws (some are hidden).
The insides are all modular so if one motor is knackered you can buy a replacement (May as well buy 2 and replace both at the same time while you have it open) on AliExpress.

    • I will flag it to look for future deals. Maybe something will pop up on Click Frenzy or something

Vacuum wars on yt has reviews of them all. Roborock usually gets the most recommendations.

    • Thanks but is this a US site? Looking for reviews from people who have maybe bought a past deal on Ozbargain as a comparison and accessible model.

      • Most of the good US YouTube reviews include a lot of brands/models that are accessible in AU. Excluded Xiaomi stuff and has some US-only stuff, but for most of the important brands like Roborock, Ecovacs, iRobot, you’re covered. I got a Roborock after comments here, Reddit, and from “The Best Robot Vacuum Tier List” on YouTube by the channel Consumer Analysis. One of the best other than vacuum wars imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53-ce8K8aTo

        • Thanks for that info, will take a look

  • I picked up a Viomi V3 for about $350 from memory from a deal here. It does have sensors and mopping and all that but it has been great in the time since I've had it.
