TCL 55" C735 QLED $688 + Delivery ($0 to BNE/ C&C) @ Videopro

340

I've been looking for a replacement bedroom TV for a while that had inbuilt google OS, but with a lot of decent processor so it isn't a horrible laggy experience like my current TV.

These normally retail for around $1000 and I haven't seen them on sale below $800 previously.

TCL seem to get really good reviews now and seem to perform better than the low end sony/Samsung/LG TV's.

Delivery to me is $117.00 or $201.00
    lol

Free delivery is only to those within 50km of a vidpro store

    • Even higher $205 to 2097.
      Looks like QLD only.

  • Specs say screen type is OLED on the site lol.

Delivery is only $46 for me so that ain't bad.

Yeah man, I'm sure they're going to give you a $688 tv for free over a spec on the website being wrong.

          Exactly. Ordered 4

          • -3

@Lingnoi: I really hope you ordered 4 for trying to take advantage and can't read sarcasm 🤣

  • not the best price tbh seen c835s for $50 more

I just bought the P745. Never buying a TCL with Google TV ever again. My kid is signed in on YouTube, and it won’t let him switch to HDMI (not even automatically with CEC) input for his Xbox unless we switch to an adult account.

You bought a P745, lower end of the TCL. C7/C8 series Soo much better. Have a look in store for yourself. Much better panel

    • Yo'll be better off turning all this shit off and disconnecting TV from network altogether.
      Use AppleTV for everything Smart.

      • +2

Simply add a $250 Apple TV to a $700 TV!!

        • any 4K one will do, just checked, lots of $100-150 deals on eBay.

    • My honest feedback, I bought a TCL 43P735 and I struggle a lot with it's interface when trying to go to Google store, I was able to reach it once then I couldn't find the way anymore so I gave up.
I wanted to install (or sideline) additional free TV channels but it was impossible.
Their APPs to sinc and operate your phone and to connect an external device are a nightmare and full of BS faulty instructions and procedures to login and to operate (I assume translated from Chinese), I gave up on that too.
Regarding the quality and the reliability I've no complaints, touch wood!

That's likely a Google issue, might have same problem on other brands too

My son got this model on clearance at JB for the same price 6 months ago. It's a pretty good deal for $688 though I wouldn't want to pay more for it with the price of mini led tvs coming down.

  • Was in good guys few weeks back and was looking at getting this but ended up scoring a hisense 65 u7hau for 710.

  • Zero judgement here, buy what you wanna buy. But is a 55" TV too big for the bedroom? Or do I just have a real small room 🤔

We have a a big TV room telly and just a 32" in the bedroom.

    • I don't think so but depends on the room. I normally cycle TVs through the rooms though this means the bedroom may get a bigger tv. TVs are that cheap to buy, second hand value not really there for budget to mid TVs.

Eg I need a tv for the guest room but looking for an 85 for main lounge, the 75 in there will go to the kids lounge, their 65 to the guest room. The 65 will be quite big for the guest room though.

To me comes down to bedroom size, our main is 6 X 5.5 with rake ceilings, so we went a 75inch and looks great.

The 65inch I just got is for my son's room.

Everyone's always going to be different or life would be simple.

    • Wouldn’t it just depend on what size the old lounge room Tv you just upgraded was?

    • I used a 32in for my bedroom lol. I’m poor

    • +2

who wouldnt want a few more inches in the bedroom ?

  • Any other retailers with this model?
Shipping to VIC kills the deal.

No local dimming. So no hdr either. Would not buy even for $200

Just saying that the TCL after sales support is pretty good. Bought a C635 last year and the backlight went dark; took some photos and files a warranty claim and they have agreed to replace with a C645 (2023 model).

My 50P715 has put me off TCL completely, after upgrading it a year or 2 ago, it hangs a lot, timezone doesn't know daylight savings, it's just a POS, and I'm always hitting that fking Netflix button, I don't have and don't want Netflix.

  • If you’re after a TV with no lag and a decent processor then the TCL is definitely not the way to go.

I have the 50C715 and would not buy again, laggy as and takes forever for it to come up to speed. Got it for $500 and I’d still not pay that money for it again if I had to.
