I had been keeping my eye out on a flat/shallow ratchet head tool and saw this set appear on Amazon AU
At $14.88, seems like some Amazon JP sale

I think I would've been happy to pay the $26 or so for the tool and 10 bits, but this price is even better.
It appears that CR is doing 3.5% cashback on this category as a small bonus.

For me, I'm happy to buy some quality JP tools (which I hope this is one). The shallow head is to get into tighter spaces where a standard screwdriver/tool will not fit.
YMMV.

Edit: the angled head (vent head) is also on sale for $15.26 (via Amazon JP)

I had this on my watchlist too as was looking for a replacement low profile ratchet screwdriver after I lost my old kinchrome one, might trail the toolpro SCA one first as look like it’s similar.

Though this one can tell everyone is JDM AF

I did try that one, it does work fine as long as it’s low profile enough for you, the Trojan one has the head bit on the back which increases overall profile. The one in listing and the toolpro one from sca look to be lower profile.

      According to the product description.

      Batteries Required? ‎No

  • Straight or angled. That is the question of the day.

    • +6

Mine angles off to the right a bit, I dont think it effects performance.

Was $12.33 in June. Expired now anyways.

  • Price changed?

    • Same issue on that link. Try other vendors, I found it at this price there.

  • Thanks OP!

    Note

These are made with vanadium which is considered toxic…

  • Only let me order one. But let me put through 2 orders with one each. Weird

Was looking at this type of thing recently. If this deal expires, another option that looks comparable is https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B007FLQQPA/ref=ppx_yo_dt…, they are also available on Amazon AU but at 4x the price. For really tight spaces there are also these: https://www.amazon.com.au/Anex-6102T-Profile-Driver-Handle/d…

  • Are the bits JIS or regular

As a sparky these are one of the tools that sit in the bag for a long time, but when it's needed is a life saver.

  • "Country of Origin: Taiwan" … i thought it's from jp
    anyway, bought one

    • I possess a collection of VESSEL tools sourced from various countries. Undoubtedly, the ones manufactured in Japan exhibit superior quality.

    • "Country of Origin: Taiwan"

well it's a double yes from me then

Near the end it shows some low profile mini ratchets with swiveling heads which take bits - those look much more useful than this design.

      • Yeah I watched the whole thing but didn't want to pitch an almost 12 minute video to us ozbargainers. We are busy people. I think. 🙂 Overall an interesting video for sure.

I am still using the free one from IKEA for DIY :-)

  • what a piece of junk, save ur money

  • Not going to lie, I didnt read that it was from Taiwan. The only reason why I bought it is that I thought it was made in JP. Im sure it still have some QC but I also feel like I could have picked something similar from Daiso haha
