Tasting note: Ruri is an easy drinking Japanese Pilsner that pairs well with almost any dish. Its delicate balance of rich flavours and hoppy bitterness is light on the palate and deliciously satisfying. Truly authentic Japanese beer, brewed in a small town about 1 hr outside of Tokyo this beer is of exception quality.

As a big beer drinker, was excited to see the rise of craft beer, but I have to say a lot of them take the piss with their pricing and marketing these days. They make it out like their hops are made from the most complex stuff out there, descriptions like 'wheat, gooseberry and mango marmalade infused with vanilla extracts', put a nice 200% markup over a standard VB and give it a hipster name like 'Yeastie Boys' and off you go, an Australian made beauty (only to be later sold to Lion or one of the big boys for mass production, or simply go bust).

Give me the cheap crap any day of the week now. Tasts 95% the same and half the price.

I was in Canada recently and found that people drank local craft beers mostly because they were cheaper. I rarely paid anything like Australian prices for some great sours, ales, etc and if I did it was a truly great beer.

Came back home and I'd rather a pint at the pub than a fancy toasted golden malted goat sneezed toffee banana purple ale. They're the same price these days.

    $100 off

    🤣🤣🤣

  • Also the coupon you receive from subscribing to the newsletter doesn't work for order < $75.

That makes sense but I read the email received several times and couldn't see it mention anywhere. Too bad I would have tried this one otherwise.

  • Sounds like RRP is what only Cartels can afford to pay

  • Coedo is nice, was always a welcome sight at the convenience store before the craft beer scene took off in Japan.

  • Whilst there’s none in stock (at least from my local) FCL price is $85 for a carton, so for short dated beer $70 (inc delivery) isn’t the most amazing discount.

Save $15 is the real saving.
