Just upgraded with 1 x 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Hynix Ram from MSY for $22. This RAM works perfect with this model.
    Total 8GB right now.

    Thanks teloreth!

  • Hi guys, a friend is looking to purchase one of these for his overseas trip but he has some questions I'm hoping you guys can answer.
    1) How good is the battery? He intends to use this laptop for movies and web browsing (he wants something this powerful so he can use it later on once he starts uni).
    2) Can someone provide the dimensions? Also the weight.
    3) Is the trackpad any good? While he has a wireless mouse, he'll need to use the trackpad occasionally as well.

    Thanks

I'm getting 4 hours of media/browsing use. More than I expected.

Don't know the exact dimensions but it's much thinner than I expected.

      Weight is 2.5kg

I noticed a few people bitching about the trackpad above. Honestly, I work with many high end laptops on a daily basis and the trackpad is just as good as anything available. Very responsive, smooth, accurate.. I don't know what else to say about the trackpad. It's perfect for me. The only gripe I will say I have with the trackpad is the auto screen up down action which is normally on the right hand side of the trackpad, Doesn't work for me, not sure if I can enable it somewhere, haven't looked.

I really rate this laptop mate. I love that it's not gimmicky like my previous asus n50 $2500 laptop. No stupid buttons, pointless plasticy volume controls or fingerprint module between the trackpad. Everything you need, nice simplistic design yet nice looking.

It's by far my favorite laptop which I use. Hope this helps.

      • Thanks for that. I'll pass it on to my friend.

Thought I'd add the Touchpad Gestures for anybody who has bought this lappy.

    2 fingers up/down direction = scrolls sreen up/down
2 fingers pinch in = shrinks page
2 fingers pinch out = expands page
3 fingers left/right = toggles back and forward (will toggle pages back & forward in your internet browser)
4 fingers up on image = fullscreen

not sure if I missed anything

  • ——-TRACKPAD ISSUE FIX. PLEASE READ——-

I think I found the fix for the touchpad issues everyone is having..

Find "Synaptics TouchPad V7.5" under your applications. Search for it under search bar in the Start menu.

Open the Application and simply tick the first box "Vertical Scrolling" under "One finger".
This will allow you to move up and down screens with one finger on the right hand side of the trackpad.

Works absolutely perfect for me, very smooth.

I think this will solve everyone's issue.

    Hope this helps!

  • Can anyone tell me whether or not this would work to upgrade the system to 16gb ram?

    • Yeah, it would work. $250? Not worth it man..
