The 745 is over 3 years old now; the 255 is generally considered the better of the two as it has multi-band GPS and the newer optical heart-rate sensor amongst other things. The 745 has music storage but that's about the only positive I can think of.

Great price! I got it in March for $499 from pushys.
Holding up well so far and the screen is readable in direct sunlight. The next version, 265, has touch screen but found the buttons easy enough to use on the 255.
Watch lasts around 2.5 weeks before requiring a recharge. I run 3 times a week.
Note this version has no music!

I have a 245 and it's the best watch I've owned for activity tracking.
