Some people buy to build them and have fun? Speculative investing ruins housing market, next kids toys and everything else.
Had that thought a while ago for investment , but I couldn't hold myself together and ended up building the Lego , and it's on display ever since. End up just playing with stocks instead.

If you’re losing money you’re buying the wrong sets. You don’t just buy everything for investment, there are sets which will definitely value and ones which definitely won’t. Also, 3 years is not generally long enough to get the good returns out of it.
LEGO Tie and stormtrooper helmets were an easy $50-$60 buy.

It's funny because if you were a diehard fan of Horizon you'd be annoyed they chose the tallneck for the lego set. It's a great set, I bought it and built it but haven't played Forbidden West yet.
