  • How do these compare to the Sonos roam?

    • -4

      Sonos is far superior.

According to below thread Bose sounds a lot louder, has better bass and better soundstage

        https://reddit.com/r/sonos/s/eniAJ1xzWp

        • "Bose sounds a lot louder, has better bass and better soundstage". Agreed. In my experience. I have used both brands in the past. Personally, Bose has a superior spacial quality to Sonos. My only negative is that this speaker still uses the older Bose Connect Android app rather than the newer and easier to manage Bose Music app used by many Bose products now

Best advice, visit a JB-Hi store carrying both brands and test for yourself. Set aside the valuation by the sales rep and decide for yourself. At the end of the day any speaker you listen to will have nuances that you will prefer and that is the ultimate test. Not the subjective opinions of others, including myself. TIP. Create a small playlist of your preferred tunes that best represent your listening choices that you might listen to on your mobile or tablet device.

Check out this comparison: then head down to JB for a listen. I just ordered a Soundlink Flex, thanks OP!

How does these compare to ozbargin favourite speakers the Soundcore Motion+

    • Ozbargin favourite speakers? Are you sure about that?

    • I have both. Mega-amateur impressions - Anker is a little louder but only one direction (mainly). Bose sounds crisper but maybe it’s just because it looks slightly sexier. Battery life o think the Anker takes it although I’ve only had the Bose for a day and it’s dropped from 70% to 50% with a ~2-3 hours use. Bose requires app to initially connect but I already had for me headphones so no drama. You will be happy with both.

    • Not as well, apparently!

I just got the Motion Boost, because it was half the weight (1+kg vs 590g) and half the price ($58 after 17% EBP discount vs $107 Amazon) - but mostly because of the size & weight. And while it's half the volume (104db vs 99db), everything is a compromise.

  • Do these have Alexa’s on it? I’m tossing between this and the Amazon echo. Not sure which one is better.

    • +1

This is a portable speaker, the echo is not.

  • I ordered one of these and it came yesterday. I was thoroughly disappointed :(

The bass completely disappears at high volumes, and it sounds quite odd.

At medium volume however it sounds nice.

At that price it's a no brainer. Just bought one from JB for $129. Spewing I didn't see this beforehand but even $129 it's a no brainer. I've had a few small Bluetooth speakers, easily the best sounding one of them all.

Only let down will be the 4.2 Bluetooth so range won't be as good as 5.x units, but as long as your within 20m line of sight it won't cut out.

  • I purchased the green one from JB Hifi last week for $129. Very happy with, the sound quality is excellent and it has very deep bass. Way rather this design over the JBL Charge.
I also own a Nixon Blaster & UE Boom 2. The Bose soundlink is far superior in quality.
