Curious as to how this is used
Lid is probably lacking insulation compared to the sides, so expanda foam used to augment it
Air is a thermal insulator though.
@gamemaster: Only air that can't move e.g. air trapped inside expanding foam. Once air can move and can convect heat, it is no longer as effective an insulator

I got two of the 38 L at home myself and they fit perfectly side by side or stacked on top of each other for storage, will be good for BBQs and fishing supplies. The handle on the 38L is definitely more sturdy, looks cleaner/premium and packs neatly vs the 55L but that's probably its biggest advantage. I think youll be alright with the 55L anyway cant complain for 19bux.
