  • Bought this in a previous prime day sale.

Works well but you can't really fit more than 2 serves of something in it comfortably so a bit small for us.

Also the timer knob has just broken but its replaceable from a local appliance spare parts place.

I would go the Kmart $89 air fryer instead. Works really well and has a higher power output than this air fryer.

    • I couldn't agree more. I bought this recently - it was my first air fryer ever. I was completely blown away by how everything I put in it turned out perfectly cooked. There I was thinking all air fryers were the same.

There I was thinking all air fryers were the same.

How do you know they're are or not if you've only ever had one?

        • Probably family's or friend's airfryer they tried out

        • As in Anko is such a generic brand? So I assumed it was generic of how air fryers perform generally? If I had bought say a Philips air fryer, I would have attributed it to the quality of the Philips brand.

EDIT: I guess what I was trying say in my earlier comment was I thought any old air fryer would cook just as well my Anko does - but apparently not based on the comment I replied to.

          • @obenihk:

So I assumed it was generic of how air fryers perform generally?

Well ultimately an airfryer is just a heating element and a fan so I guess there can't be too much difference other than power. I think the key is the power of the fan and the ability to force as much hot air onto the surface as the food as possible.
I don't get why people spend thousands and thousand for 'high end' European ovens when any airfryer does a better job. Mine has been a life changer :)

            • @1st-Amendment: Yes I held off from buying one for so long thinking it was technically the same as my turbo oven - which I used occasionally but always found the cooking result very mediocre. Turns out I was pleasantly proven wrong about the air fryer.

    • Did they fix the heat problem of it coming our of the bottom of the unit and not the rear? Wasn't there melting benches early on with the kmart ones?

      • My air fryer just came off cooking for 25 minutes at 200 degrees. The benchtop is still cool to the touch where it was sitting on top of.

  • how big or smaller is this to the XXL one?

    • +3

      Found this regarding xxl
Serve up to six portions with the 7.3L capacity basket
Also this is 1400W vs 2200W of xxl
      .

    • I purchased the one in the post, ended up getting rid of it. It was way too small even for just a 2 adult household.

I'm looking at XXL as a minimum

I've got this air fryer, it's pretty decent. The turning knobs are a bit close together and sometimes tricky to turn. A slight design flaw. Easy to clean

I got the a similar model, same size (800g/4litre) but with the digital controls. You'll pay more for it, but worth it IMO

    • Thank you for your comment. I was going to get this one but you raised points that would effect me being able to use it.

I have the Mistral that bought from Wollies a few years now for $30. Still going strong. We take it camping as well.

  • I have this. Like others said, cooks well but it's small. Don't know about others but I find cleaning this one to be a PITA due to the "starfish" design inside. It's hard to clean between the grooves. Much preferred cleaning my old air fryer which had a flat surface.

Save your money and buy a big one .. Ideally the XXL - you will never complain its to big, but you will complain the reverse. Even the standard one is annoyingly small at times let alone an even smaller one.

Ideally the XXL - you will never complain its to big,

My parents bought a big one a did exactly that. It was too big, took up too much counterspace, too hard to get out/put away etc

but you will complain the reverse

They swapped for small one like this and love it.

      • You'll use it enough its not really needed to be put away.

Some people don't want a big ugly black plastic box sitting in the middle of their new kitchen…

          • @1st-Amendment: Must be pretty small kitchen to take up that much space - I have 2 of them on mine and I live in an apartment and there is plenty of room. Given we use them everyday, no reason to put them away as such. The white ones which we have are fine looking. Anyway personal choice, I find the fact you want say to put in a whole chicken or enough fries for a few people (or the ability to do both at the same hence why I have 2 ) etc much more convenient

    • Not everyone has space for a big one. This one is perfect for 1 or 2 people living in apartments with not much kitchen space…

Better than a Kmart branded one which cooks the food unevenly

  • -4

Plastic + heat = Big no

    • The trays where food sits on are metal

  • is this a standard price or a good deal? anyone know?

    • RRP is $199 and usually sell for $179

      • great thanks. i bought one of these for mum a few years ago. so just got one for me.

tiny, but does the job for little things. or cook some protein quickly and do the sides the stove

  • I own one of the originals about to hit its 9th birthday soon. Brilliant air fryer. Also, the manual control makes things simple to use & less to go wrong. I don't need it for it to connect online and to have it controlled via an app. The size is smaller, but not too bad.

    • Been using mine daily for 7 years. Recently it has started making a ticking noise when the fan stops at the end. Still not a problem and runs well, but it is starting to show its age.

Does anyone know this would rate against the instant pot 4L at $69?

  • Still cannot figure out how to cancel the timer…. Can anyone help?

    • Turn it off at the power
