  • Wondering if you can you put one of these boost Sims in a gen 2 Telstra SMART MODEM to use in 4g backup mode, or would they realise it's being used in a modem?

    • I have done it without issue but remember the gen 2 limits max speeds though the sim & I was using fresh 30 day Sims for data not a single one long term.

Anyone know if this code stacks with cash rewards $45 cashback?

    • +2

Well, went for it and have received email from cash rewards to say it has been tracked successfully.

Makes it $215 for 260gb = $17.91 for 21gb/Mth. It's not a profit like all the short term deals but it's decent for a lot less porting in/out.

      • Thank you. I was waiting for the same thing.

Can confirm Cashrewards tracked for me too! Hope everything will go smooth. :)

        • Hopfully it does go through, but just because it tracked, doesnt mean it will go through, Generally the code needs to be listed on the cashback partners website.

Just contacted Cashrewards and received confirmation that BOOST260 is a valid code to use. So that's an extra $50 discount.

  • Does porting in and out still work with Boost? My 12-month sim is expiring soon.

    Thanks!

    • Mine too. Does Boost not liking people port out & in?

      • +1

I would say the usual 30 days comes into it.

        • +1

I’ve ported out to Optus and back ported in to boost after 15 days no issues

    • A possible way to avoid the porting process is to contact the customer service and request them to activate your new Boost sim with your existing number.

I did it this way last year. It took about 40 mintues on the phone.

As soon I ended the call, I saw an SOS signal on my phone. I then inserted the new sim card and viola.

They aren't doing this any more.

        • +2

Yeah I did it last month fine but tried again today and it was a 90 minute battle. They credited me in the end but said the conversation would be noted so it won’t be allowed again. Gonna have to port in and out

          • @heyrosered: What's the best way to port out and back in for this? Who do you guys port to and which plan?

        • +1

Yep just tried through the chat. Wouldn't do it. Offered to refund me the Sim purchase. Looks like I gotta get a cheap Sim to port.

      • +1

Tried yestersday but they said they cant do it.

    • you need a $2 sim from other service provider if you are already using Boost

      • how long do you need to be on the other sim for? Like can I port out one day, then port back to boost the next?

    • +1

I ported out and back the following day only a month or so ago no problem

  • +2

If only Boost would support eSIM!!!!

  • +2

    I need 170 GB plan

    • Same! There's been nothing recently

  • would have been a great deal if was $220-230 or if bonus was 60gb.

    • It brings down to $215 with $45 cashback on top of $260 if purchased through Cashrewards.

      • If the code is not in Cashrewards site, it may get declined at a later stage.

If anyone is interested, More Mobile are offering 3 free months if you are a Commbank customer, then discounted monthly after that. If not a customer, you can join up for $4 a month, so you can get the largest plan (150GB) for 3 months for $12, then just port out.

    • Can I get More Mobile's SIM anywhere? Or are they available only from their website?

      • Not sure, I was going to join next week

    • Thanks mate! i am going to get 3 month free then seek other deal during Christmas

    • wheres this $4/month deal?

What's a good SIM to port out temporarily?

    • I’ve ported to Optus/vodafone in the past before porting back to boost. Took less than 3 hours on a business day.

      • All done on the same day?

  • Is Boost now 5G? I've kinda lost track with them going on and off 5G.

    • Yes it is

  • Hi everyone!
Just wanted to know what happens after the allocated data finishes? does it keep running on a low speed e.g 1.5 mbps or do we need to pay to buy extra data? Thanks

    • +1

mine finished before and you need to buy more data or youll have no internet.

      • Thanks mate for letting me know.

  • Hi all,
Bit of a silly question. Currently with boost due to expire in November. Tried to purchase this and it’s asking for my details, ID and number like I’m a new customer. Does this mean it’s just a recharge or is this because I’m just buying from boost website? do I still need to port out to a different network once I get the sim (then port back to boost with this new sim once I’m ready to activate)?
    Hope that makes sense.
    Cheers

You can stack it with this Cashrewards Cashback Promo right now to get an additional $50 cashback until Oct 28, 2023. This means you'll be paying $210 after the cashback confirms for a full year.
