Bosch Blue - Hammer Drill, Impact Wrench/Driver, Case, Charger, 2x 8Ah Batteries (& Redeem Extra 2x 8Ah) $650 @ Bunnings

220

Super handy impact driver/wrench that can use both hex bits and 1/2" sockets.

Similar to the kit regularly available for $499 but without the angle grinder. For the extra money you get an L-BOXX hard case, better 8Ah batteries, faster charger, higher spec impact driver/wrench with torque control and bluetooth capability.

Price is about $100 off RRP, but the real deal is the two extra 8.0Ah ProCore batteries you get via redemption.

Normally 8Ah batteries are over $200 each. Here you get FOUR for $650 plus tools/case/charger. I bought it for the batteries.

The Bosch Blue Kit Includes:
1 X 18V Brushless Hammer Drill GSB 18V-85 C
1 X 18V Brushless Impact Driver/Wrench Combo GDX 18V-200 C
2 X ProCORE18V 8.0Ah Battery
1 X Fast Charger GAL 1880 CV
1 X L-BOXX Carrying Case

Redemption:
2 X ProCORE 18V 8.0Ah Battery - Redemption Link

Bluetooth capable drill and driver/wrench but no BT modules included.

Looks to be WA only pricing, shows as $737 for all other states.
Does show as $650 for PowerPass in Sydney though.

8Ah batteries can’t be fun to use for long. The 6Ah on my DeWalts can get annoying, I’ll run the smaller 5 or 2 Ah Power Stacks to get around those.

    • They’re sometimes awkward in a drill or driver, but the extra oomph and longevity is great for mostly two-handed tools like angle/die grinders or saws.

      • Yeah, I always use my 6Ah on my angle grinder. The PowerStacks will give the same/very similar oomph in a smaller package, just not with the longevity of course.

Bosch batteries are generally smaller and lighter.
      DeWalt are the opposite.

These Bosch PROCORE 8.0ah even more compact, only 50 grams heavier than a DeWalt 6.0ah

8Ah - thats one chonky batt

    • More portable than a car battery I guess.

I’ve been using 8ah on my jiggy for the last couple of years. It certainly possesses the chonk to which you allude giving slightly less satisfaction to hand (still on the battery here) hooever..once that big bad 8 is clicked in place you know it’s in for the long haul and that my friend is a comforting sensation

    • That's about $400 in the battery cell value alone, ie the individual 10 cells used in each of the 4x batteries.

    • Not much chonky than standard 4ah, these used 10x21700 cell not 18650 so it is pretty much the same thickness just a bit wider.

      • Compared to my 5Ah batteries, they’re about 10mm thicker, 5mm longer, 5mm wider.

  • Can't get it to show up as $650 in WA or Sydney on the powerpass app. Which store did you set it to?

    • It was Ellenbrook, lower price on in-store signage and online. but it’s back over $700 now on the website.

Still a good deal, but the redemption batteries are available for a few months. You’d be better off waiting for a Sydney Tools or Total Tools when they have a $100 store credit with $500 spend.

      • You need to edit or expire the deal.

  • This looks like the Spiderman drill the boyz at DonutMedia used in a recent video claiming it to be their best Chinesium buy yet.. 😅

  • Bunnings only dropped the price for 4 days due to the Bonus points at Sydney tools on Bosch gear. It was better purchasing it at Sydney tools, as you could get $100 in points, and if you spent a little more, got $200 in points.

Bunnings always tries to catchup with other mobs, but they don't really meet up to their own lowest price policy.

  • FFS Why not at least one 4AHr or even a 2Ahr, especially if you need a bit of compactness or lightness

I run my 4 all the time, so another of those would be great (i have 2 x 8 and 1 x 4) the 8 only ever goes on the angle grinder.
