The Limeta R8 is the same device as the ISDT N8 which typically goes for around $85 delivered when on sale and $110 at RRP.

These are very similar to the popular ISDT C4 Evo but can charge 8 batteries rather than 4. The R8/N8 does NOT support 18650s though.
Recommendation is to check for the latest firmware (Uses the ISDT firmware app) as some of the older ones were apparently prone to overheating some batteries.

I don't know the background of the Limeta vs ISDT brand names, but I have confirmed with the seller that these are the same device and there are comments indicating that the shipped units are actually ISDT branded anyway.

  • The R8/N8 does NOT support 18650s though.

    That's a deal-breaker for me.

Looks like their R4 Evo does support 18650s

Still using a Nitecore D4 from years ago to charge my 18650s.

    • Yep, if you need 18650s this is not the charger for you. It's a shame as otherwise it would be nearly perfect, but still a great option if you only need AAA and AA

    • The ISDT C4EVO https://www.isdt.co/c4evo.html?lang=en is a better charger, as the isdt can only charge and discharge and show info, glorified AA&AAA charger with a screen. It is dated and you can get cheaper 8 AA&AAA charger, that also can recover, and cycle charge this model can't only charge and discharge.

C4EVO can Charge, Discharge, & Store, Destroy, Cycle, Activate, Analyze AA&AAA and Li-Lon, LiFe, LiHv,NiMH, NiZn, Eneloop. It's pricey but worth it

And it can do any cylinder type batts AAA,AA,10440,10500,12500,13500,14500,14650,16650,17650,17670,18650,18700, 20650,20700,21700,22650,26650,26700

The model above can only do NiMH, NiCaD very basic tech/charger

      • The ISDT C4EVO https://www.isdt.co/c4evo.html?lang=en is a better charger

So you're saying a more expensive charger has more features?
And if I wanted to charge 8x Eneloops I'd have to spend $180 on two of those?

The model above can only do NiMH, NiCaD very basic tech/charger

I'm confused; did you even click on the link? The product name itself states "Li-ion, LiHv, NiMH, NiCd, HiFe, NiZn".

As for features it can "Charge, Discharge, Analyse, Activate".

DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME as ISDT N8, these are knock off clones! So not guaranteed the same quality as a ISDT plus the price isn't that cheap

From everything I've been able to find they're identical products. The info is pretty unclear, but there's some indication that LiMeta are the manufacturer of these for ISDT and ISDT do the software and firmware.

What have you seen indicating that they're not the same?

Exactly the information is unclear for a reason LMAO! "ISDT is an electronics manufacturer"

That isn't evidence and ISDT manufacture their own products, have a R&D division and they have a manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China. They in fact also manufacture for other brands like, Hobbywing for Spektrum. There are a couple of different names not just Limeta, that are clones of ISDT products . Look it up :)

Indications you have are false. You can have negative votes on the comment, but your disputing facts, been in RC game for many years now and know clones of ISDT do cut corners in QC, that is the cost of the discount/price you are paying :)

What evidence do you have confirming whom the actually manufacturer is of ISDT?. I would like to see this so called evidence/information to make better decisions for people :) As on their official site they have their own facility, lol.

The deal isn't cheap even( its a very dated product ) as there are better chargers for less. And there are better ISDT chargers that handle a lot more Battery chemistry's and have recover battery tech in them, these don't

        • What evidence do you have confirming that this Limeta R8 is an ISDT knockoff?
