  • Superb deal!

Most of the light work contractors I have dealt with in the last two to three years have been using Ozito and with the price/performance, warranty and less worry about theft can see why.

    https://www.ozito.com.au/news/ozito-power-x-change-a-power-p…

    • Indeed they do. When I was getting slim 4AH ozito twin battery pack, a couple of tilers infront of me were trying to return a ozito cutting tool. Only problem is that it clearly had been used for the mornings job as it was full of dust! O_o

    • +5

No serious tradie is using Ozito.

And as for the warranty for tradesman:
Ozito warranty is generally not affected by the use of a Bunnings PowerPass or by being used by a tradesperson for DIY work, as long as the tool isn't used for commercial/trade purposes. However, the Bunnings trade terms state warranties are excluded unless non-excludable by law, creating a conflict. If you're a tradesperson, to avoid warranty issues, you should either buy Ozito tools at a retail price and avoid using the PowerPass account or be aware that you may need to rely on consumer law to uphold your warranty if a dispute arises after a commercial purchase.

      • +1

You can get a PowerPass without being a tradesperson. You just need an ABN.

    • i am cancelling the contractor if they are coming with ozito or ryobi tools, lol.

  • no longer available??

      • weird… work computer blocking something… never had that prob before with bunnings/youin
        phone showing it

        • +1

If your local store set on Bunnings has no stock you'll get no longer available.

    • Change your store.

  • If I select a store that has it, can I onepass it to Brisbane?

    • +1

No, I tried that a while back and they actually called me to try and figure out how I had ordered an out of stock item for their store lol

  • +1

Oh boy it's slim pickings depending on your location! Zero in the 4 Canberra stores, so no luck for me!

But if Mentone is your local then you're all set!

    • Worth check again in a day or two, stock may in transit.

      • It could do! I'd have thought this was an older item(since it's not on the Bunnings site anymore), but maybe it's a newer one which hasn't got to all the stores yet?

  • +1

Somehow i always resist the urge to buy these batteries. I have 8 tools (36V mower, 3 garden tools, and 4 power tools) and have only 2 4Ah batteries and 2 2.5Ah batteries that all came as kit with some of these tools.

    • +2

Buy some of the 4.0Ah or larger batteries and you'll notice a huge improvement in performance.

  • +1

Was a good deal at $129 earlier in the year, at $99 it is great.

Handy for splitting with a mate given it has two chargers

  • Are these compatible with XU1 ?

    • +1

      No different battery connection type

  • Oops! This product is no longer available.

    • Change store to Windsor Gardens, then refresh.

  • How many are too many? Double charger or skip for me now ;)

    • +1

Quad Charger? This is what I use for all my charging requirements. I counted the other day and have 20 Ozito Batteries and about 8 other charges on the shelf that I never use.

I would be getting either the 3 x 4.0Ah Battery Pack or the 2 x 4.0Ah Slim Line Battery Back.

      • Quad charger looks to be a solid upgrade, added to my list for it when on sale. Or maybe never. I'm on the road to 10 ozito batteries and some other batteries.

        • +1

I haven't seen it on sale yet, but I have one and it's great. I've got roughly 20 Ozito Batteries and it does the job greatly.

      • Damn, It's better than Quad desk.

  • This is the GOAT of Ozito battery deals. Realistically this would be all 99% of people ever need - can just focus on discounted skins now.

  • Does anyone use these batteries with an adaptor for Ryobi tools? Both my Ryobi 4Ah stopped working and Ryobi battery prices are a joke

  • Must resist temptation. Already have 4 x 4.0Ah and 4 x 2.0Ah. Am trying to convince myself I might run out of power doing the lawn but it has not happend so far.

    • +2

You'll definitely run out of power doing the lawn mate, now go get it

While this is a pretty good deal - I'd be more tempted to go with the 2 x slim 4Ah for $79 and 2 x 2.5Ah for $20 each with the chargers. $119 and you get the better slim 4Ah's. These bulky ones don't always do so well with high current draw tools, I'll be lucky to get 5 minutes out of the belt sander for example

    • +1

This exact deal was $129 last time, so $119 sounds great.

    • These bulky ones don't always do so well with high current draw tools, I'll be lucky to get 5 minutes out of the belt sander for example

Interesting cos that's typically the opposite of when you have more cells in parallel to deliver the current; unless they really are old or crappy cells or an underrated protection circuit.

      • +1

Yeah. We've had a few conversations on OzB about them. They're using some pretty cheap 18650s, I tore them down in this comment

I haven't got my hands on the compact ones yet to see what's inside, but my fat 4's are peanuts compared to the 5.2 which are 20650's and handle high current tools or the Dyson a lot better, so the compact ones will be interesting with the new battery tech.

        • Interesting re: the high current tool use. They are both rated for 900W but I'd have expected the 18650s in the non compact packs to handle sustained high power draw better.

It depends on the exact current rating of the cells used (and I don't think there's any info about the specific 21700 cells used) but generally speaking much easier to get 50A from a pair of 18650s than a single 21700. IIRC the Tenpower 18650s are rated for 30a.

But if your non compact 4ah batteries are a few years old they probably have enough wear (mostly from just sitting around) to not hold up as well.

The 5.2Ah is rated for 1260W so is expected to handle high loads much better.

  • +1

Great deal. Can ryobi do something similar too please

  • I'm currently in the Bosch DIY ecosystem but tempted by this.

Do the bulky 4Ah batteries weigh more than the compact 4 Ah?

Why would there be any difference in high current draw performance as stated by AngryAlfred above?

  • Does anyone know what cells are in these? Would be good value shucking them.

    • PAnasonic? Don't quote me tho.

  • Bought this a couple of days ago, Wasnt sure it was discounted enough to post on here, I guess i was wrong. :) .

  • Is there a YouTuber, website or person that reviews and rates the quality of tool batteries?

  • These would be great if there was a high power PD charger attachment. Anyone DIY'd this before? Using these to charge a laptop on the go would be cool!

    • +1

You can get them on Ali for like $30, 100W.. allegedly.

Otherwise you can check out gyrex' post here

      • Very cool! Thanks, will have to add this to my projects list.

  • Good price for the two batteries and two chargers

    Fathers day gift sorted

  • Anyone in Vic postcode 3336 to 3340 willing to split into half for this?
I already have one 4ah and one 2.5ah.
So wanting to buy half of this set and looking for someone who is willing to split.

  • Thought I'd well and truly missed out on this one. Happened to be at the Hammerbarn Virginia QLD today and walked past 1 box on the shelf. Instabuy. Very good deal.
