  • looks cute!

  • Wouldn’t this make the room too humid in summer?

    • +1

probably depends on where you locate
in VIC and SA summer are usually pretty dry (mostly below 50% humidity)

No, they can't evaporate water fast enough really.

What these are perfect for is as a companion to reverse cycle air conditioners. An AC sucks moisture out of the air, and this puts just enough out to balance it.

      • It's a common misconception that a RCAC dries the air. For example, if absolute humidity is 10g/m3 @ 30 deg and the room is cooled to 22 deg, the absolute humidity will still be 10g/m3. What will change is the relative humidity. At 30 deg it will be ~32% and at 22 deg it will increase to ~50%. This is because cooler air has a lower capacity to hold moisture. A simple analogy is thinking about the two temperatures as buckets. The higher temp has a larger bucket, the lower temp has a smaller bucket. Without anything else changing, by cooling the room with a RCAC you should actually perceive the room to be more moist.

I think it's the blowing fan that leads people to think that it dries the air.

  • how long does that water tank last?

  • i should save myself 10 bucks.

  • $15 posted on ebay. They're basically just a computer fan

  • Thx op, still haven't opened this from last deal purchase. Right time for summer

  • +1

I have this - it will NOT save you from the heat. Its quite weak. Save your $$$ and get a small pedestal fan instead.

  • How do you clean the SEALED tank? Sounds like a great place for mould to live and be spread.

  • is this a good secret Santa material ?
