Who Sells Sunglasses That Protect The Side of The Eyes?

I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any prescription glasses that protect the sides of my eyeballs.

    cancer council

I believe you need to be a Pensioner and 70+ to wear these glasses but as you don't appear to be able to use Google I'm guessing you are 70+

Just get an optometrist to fit custom prescription lenses.

    • How much does it normally cost to custom fit?

      • I have no idea.

My BIL has prescription glasses and has 2 clear plastic covers on the arms that protect the sides (he uses them instead of safety glasses at work).

        ultimate sesh glasses

  • You can get the side protection added from specsavers and the like.

    • Really? I can't see any glasses from them that have it?

      • You have to ask them. It’s not cheap though.

    • Nope, they don't do them.

shouldn't you be asking an optometrist ?

    • To find out which places sells a type of glasses? Yeah they might know, but anyone could.

It would be like asking a plumber where to buy a type of toilet.

      • If you didn't, you wouldn't be asking on here would you?

        • Are you asking if I asked a retailer like Specsavers?
Or if I booked an appointment with a optometrist just to ask hey.. um.. where do I buy these glasses?

Repairing a toilet is very different than buying a type of glasses.

  • Fitovers might help.

have a look at the radar, and M frames
they wrap around the face a bit and have prescription
these are more sporty looking (golf, cricket, cycling)

    • These are perfect, thank you

      • nevertried prescription so cant comment but i love the radar especially if u have a bigger face.
its is mainly plastic ( for sports so they get thrown around alot)

but are very light. u can also get different colour lenses, some for different sports cause then enhance lighting ( like for road cycling or golf)

head to an oakley store and try ( they have outlets but i doubt u can get precription on sale)

There are side covers you can guy for sunglasses. I had a pair of ski style sunglasses that had something like these. Just google them I don't have a lot of luck trying to put in a link.

  • Julbo does prescription glasses, and they're known for making mountaineering/glacier glasses with side protection (either wraparound or shielded).

No idea if they are available locally though.

    • I have several Julbos & like them for their wraparound frames.

Their sunglasses/goggles are available locally, through an outdoor sports distributor I believe.
