Xgimi Mogo 2 Pro?

Hi everyone,

Am looking for a no-fuss compact projector with auto keystone/focus, chromecast capability and ability to cast onto ceiling for use in a dark room (bedroom).

After some research, xgimi appears to be a respectable brand in this space and I have shortlisted the xgimi mogo 2 pro (pair with multi angle stand). The lack of built-in battery is not an issue for me as I'll have it plugged in.

Just want to see if anyone has experience with this particular projector or xgimi projectors in general?

And what's the best way to purchase xgimi gear on discount? Do xgimi projectors get discounted during digidirect ebay 20% off or during Amazon prime day/black friday?

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

    Same here
Want something can cast onto the ceiling in the bedroom…

    • I am thinking of screwing an el-cheapo projector to metal bar to fit it onto a gas spring monitor stand (100mm*100mm), then screwing the gas spring monitor stand to my bed's headboard….

    I have XGIMI Horizon 1080P
    It goes ok

I got it from mobiciti - @BargainsGrabber helped me get a deal on it during their 500th deal post.

My main complaint would be it has no way to set hdmi device (such as chromecast) as the default device when on. It also has an annoying issue where it does not remember that you had soundbar as default sound output so have to switch it every time.

Support for Xgimi is based overseas and their English comprehension is pretty poor so better hope you don’t need to seek assistance from them as it’s mega frustrating .

    • Ah finally - someone who has one! This model is on my shortlist. Trying to determine if 1080p is good enough quality over 4K.

What size is your screen? And following on from that, do you notice individual pixels/screen door effect when blown up large?

      • 1080p seems fine to me. I have it keystoned a fair bit, projects to lounge wall for a 3m screen.

I can’t justify shelling out for 4k atm can prob wait a few years to see affordable tri laser ust rock up maybe.

I mainly use this for Netflix, YouTube and Xbox cloud gaming.

It is washed out during the morning unless I have all blinds closed but still very useable.

I don’t notice any issue with screen dooring. I sit about 6m back

  • Thank you everyone for their replies!

Currently mogo 2 pro + multi angle stand go for $1099 RRP as a bundle. Can get $50 off when signed up to newsletter bringing down to $1049.

Any thoughts on what % discount to target on xgimi projectors?

    Cheers!

928 for projector only through Sydney mobiles eBay with code OCT17 with eBay plus.

Idk how much the stand is but surely it’s not more than 100

    • Did you decide on one?

I was looking at the mogo or halo. Wanted one for our outside area and going camping

Have my eyes set on the mogo 2 pro.

I checked out the mogo 2 pro and the halo+ in store, the halo+ seemed a bit bulky (relative to mogo 2 pro) and weirdly the auto keystone didn't seem to work too well on the model on display.

Tempted to pull the trigger now as it's on sale for $899 with stand. (Was $1099 a few days ago)

      • If you're mainly using it for outdoors/camping, do note the mogo 2 pro doesnt have a built-in battery, which means you will need to use a 65w powerbank to power it.

  • Ended up getting mogo 2 pro + multi angle stand bundle for $899.

    • How did you go with this now you have had it a while?

Would it be good for outdoor use?

I mainly use it indoor in a dark room, which is decent.
However, it prob won't give a decent quality picture in bright outdoors, unless U project a smaller frame size.

        • Still happy with it? And where did you get yours from for that price?
