Me and my partner both have this headset, we frequently play fps games, main selling point was decent mic, sounds good and it's wireless.

Get a mic with flip up to mute… that's what i regret with my logitech most. Makes it easier to store and use.
    Also look at battery life.

This or Audeze Maxwell for $150 more?

    • -2

This if you want SLIGHTLY better positional audio. Maxwell if you want a SLIGHTLY better sounding stage overall.

Maxwell is so much better for music and general use, its not even close.

    • I believe the Audeze Maxwell is a more well rounded product. If you have use for anything other than gaming (e.g. music, conferencing, Discord chat, etc) the Maxwell is just a better product. It is more expensive though worth it.

    • $150 is a lot of money more. Almost 40% more. I think $350 for gaming headphones is dear enough. Also Audeze don’t seem to be readily available atm. From all the comparisons I’ve read it seems to be the law of diminishing return. 5% better for 40% more money. According to Rtings, they’re up there in specs. Just bought a pair today. Will let you know how they go

  • I upgraded to these from the GPX 1 and I absolutely hated it. Sound was extremely tinny (still not great after playing around with EQ) and everyone I spoke to noted that my mic sounded worse.

    • Does the old mic fit in?

    these are extremely tinny

for like 200 bucks you can get a set of 599s on sale, and a blue yeti desk mike..

    or get the beyerdynaimcs

    • I'd highly advise against the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 gaming headset due to the flimsy mic. My mic no longer works - it's hanging off by a wire and all I've done is adjust it a couple times, always handled carefully. Looking online at the time I saw a few complaints of the same issue being caused by simply adjusting the mic so it looks like a possible design/production fault.

If going the Beyer route, the 900 pro x are highly regarded for FPS gaming, you'll just need to invest in a separate mic.
