Behind/above Monitor Laptop Mount - Does a Non 3D Printed Solution Exist?

Trying to setup a better WFH desk setup and currently have 2* 27" monitors which is all the width of the desk will support.
Trying to incorporate my laptop screen as a third 'minor' display monitor and wondering if something like the following exists as a 'product' where the laptop can be opened and positioned above one of the monitors using the vesa mounting points?

My google-fu isnt showing up any solutions apart from items like this which people have 3d printed designs for

Weighing up this as a solution before needing to get monitor arms that raise both 27" monitors higher than the laptop

Comments

  • Lay the laptop flat and use a mirror.

    • i'll let you work out the practicalities of how many mirrors i need to result in a non flipped image :)

      • Two
        .

  • Why not have an arm attached to the side of the desk with a laptop stand?

    • +1

no space on the sides, pretty much limited to the width of the desk, which is suitable for 2*27" monitors side by side.

  • A 3rd arm behind the other monitors?
A search for laptop arm on ebay gives some options.

    • they all seem to want to have the laptop in its normal 'L' type layout which when above the monitors would be pretty clunky as i'd be looking 'over' the keyboard

perhaps everyone just deals with monitor arms and moves their monitors upwards above the laptop, leaving the laptop at desk height

  • Find a printing service and get one knocked up!

  • "raise both 27" monitors higher than the laptop"
    That sounds non ergonomic
I take it desk doesn't back onto a wall where brackets could be mounted?
Or make from technic lego ir mecano?
    .

    • it backs onto a wall, but considering the monitors have perfectly usable vesa mounting points i was trying to avoid that

But yeah i guess i could raid the kids lego :)
