Now that is more OZB like, unlike this. You could buy 148 pairs of these, for 1 cost of the Dan Clark Audio Stealth.

  • In all seriousness though, I have bought a pair to replace the crappy JBLs I got for an Xmas present. Edifier seems to be good quality, I have the Edifier R1280DB and am very happy with the quality, so will be interesting to see how they are for headphones!

  • +4

    Quality does not mean expensive=Edifier.

  • My edifier TWS ones died twice, but when working they were good lol

    • +2

Died twice? Did CPR not work 3rd time?

      • +1

Lol uhhh, they failed in the right ear, sent back to Amazon and got a replacement and a year later they did the same thing. Died twice. Different units.

        Light use.

        • Did the first failure occur within the 30 day no question asked period .. or did Amazon cover the 1 year ACL warranty?

          • +2

@Wally: In my experience, Amazon has always been good in that regard. Had a $400 ASUS router die at 11 months, they took it back and issued a full refund of the purchase price without fuss.

          • +1

@Wally: They covered Over 1 year ACL

It doesn't appear to have ANC, but I guess can't really complain for the small price.

  • These are great for the kids. Pretty durable.

    • +5

Except you have to watch the volume settings. Most headphones aimed at kids make sure they don’t exceed a certain db level

There is apps you can download to block volume going too high, or some devices have a setting you enable

    • It’ll blow your kids eardrums

  • This has good reviews https://amzn.asia/d/1K8kWkH

  • I got these for closer to $20 a couple of years back. Good unit, good bass. Good for gym use.

I recently got some Edifier W800BT Plus for my son for $46.75 on sale. For the price, I'm super happy with the sound, construction and fit. They are the same design as this, and importantly, fit very comfortably over the ears so you can wear them for long periods. They are 55 hours playback vs 30 hours for these. The problem for me with the cheaper Edifier models, is that they don't sit articulate and sit flat when not in use. No travel case at this price either, so they're vulnerable in the backpack.

Edifier seem to always have some sort of sale on with good discounts. There is a seller on ebay, who also sells on Amazon, that sells cheap too. Be patient and you'll get the model you want quickly enough (on both platforms). They have so many different models with small price differences.

  • Can you connect them to a TV and experience no lag?

    • +1

Can you connect them to a TV

      If it has Bluetooth, yes.

      and experience no lag

That can depend on various factors.

  • -2

    This or Focal Utopia?

  • Did anyone have any experience using these while exercising?

I'm currently using a pair of wired Sennheiser which are ok but I don't like being tethered.

Weight isn't really a big issue. This is for use on a stationary bike

Most important thing is for them to be about tolerate done sweat without getting to gross or breaking. Wired headphones seem to go fine in the sweat because there's no active circuit or battery, but as soon as you get a battery and a charging port into the mix things get complicated…

    • I've walked 3000km with the W800BT's on my head with no worries (these look very similar to those). I don't run due to injuries but walking has been no problem. Through Summer and Winter. They're not always the most comfortable on a hot summer day but I never experienced any issues. And I spent enough time in the sun for my dark blue hat to turn light blue, so the battery has held up just fine.

    • I have been using my w800BT in the gym, 100 plus times. No issues with sweat.

  • Black or Grey, which one looks better? I feel Grey looks seamless design

  • Thanks bought 2.

  • I've owned the Edifier W800BT for 3 years and now the Edifier W820NB Plus for a few months. I'm no audiophile but they've been great for me. The W800BT ear cups eventually went bad and I replaced them with <$10 ones from eBay, now good as new again.

Can't go wrong with Edifier, in the cheap range I trust this brand over others.

Having the USB-C is a bonus, my old W800BT was still Micro-USB (though they've upgraded that on current versions). Anyway given my walks are ~1hr a day, I only charged it about once every 3 or 4 weeks.

    • W820nb plus is appx $75 ebay , you think it's worth the extra? Need one for night time tv watching so basically comfortable factor is imp

      • Make sure you get the Plus version, not the Hybrid version.

      • +1

It's apples for oranges compared to the W600BT of course but from a comfort point of view, like just wearing and lying around on a lounge at home I think my W800BT's are more comfortable, but the caveat with that is I'm not sure if that's because they've stretched in 3 years out in the sun etc. They're definitely not as tight a fit, where as the W820NB Plus is tighter and I think that's normal because it's got noise cancellation. It's comfortable but you definitely feel they are heavier and bulkier. Walking around outdoors on a windy day they pick up so much more wind from being physically larger.

But the noise cancellation is pretty cool, apparently not a class leader in that area but I find it good. It blocks out a lot of traffic noise when I walk along a busy road. If noise cancellation isn't something you care about, I'd honestly get one of the cheaper models. Lighter, still great battery life. Mine have been tossed around a few times, fallen off desks, bed etc, always fine. I'm not sure the more expensive model would take the some beating over the long run.

        Hope that helps.

EDIT: These do go on sale regularly, both on eBay and Edifier's website. If not in a hurry just keep an eye on them and you'll save plenty whichever model you end up getting.

        • Thanks a lot for great feedback, much appriciated

  • Black $38.25, but grey is $55?

    • +1

Two different sellers. The $38.25 black / grey were Edifier direct, the $55 grey were Amazon. The $38.25 grey Edifier direct sold out, leaving just the black ones. Now, Edifier have raised the price to $49.

  • Black now is $49

  • I arrived too late. Discount expired :'(

  • Pioneer S3 was $49 at Myer but I think that one ended a few days ago.

  • Do you need Low Latency (i think) for using with say a TV, so they sync and don't glitch etc?

    • There could be a number of factors as to why there is a sync issue with the audio. Any headphones might "appear" to do it, but it could come down to the TV as well.

  • +1

Received my headphones today. I am no audio expert but for the price these are really good.
