  • Any higher end ones, esp the X2xxx series

    • What makes you want the x2800 over something like this?

      • +4

        Audyssey MultEQ XT

        • I'm hoping to see the x2800h on sale for black Friday sales. Last year they had a bonus wireless speaker too from Denon.

        • From what I've read MultEQ XT does more harm than good, XT32 and Dirac is where it's at

          • @Ryballs: yea dirac is where its supposed to be but its only on the very high end stuff

          • @Ryballs: So what's the next best after this and 5he x2800h?

All my searches leads back to the x2800h for my needs.

    How about something with Dirac?

$2199 RRP but their normal price is only $1k.

  • This has been a similar price a couple of times before.

    Previous buyers, are you happy??

    • Bought this for $20 more during their last sale. So far I'm happy with it. Just note that it it breaks, you're going to be paying for postage to get this back to them and that won't be cheap considering it's weight.

surely there's a denon repair place in every capital city? since its the same as marantz etc.

      • What?

Australian consumer law clearly states the point of sale has to cover shipping for a repair.

  • Hi takis,

Would this be appropriate to replace the receiver that comes with the Sony Muteki 7.2 system and continue using those speakers in the short-medium term?

The current receiver has a seperate box/amp that the subs plug into

    • +1

Having unfortunately sold the Muteki to people in the past, in my opinion only thing appropriate for it is landfill and start again with something like Q Acoustics.

      • Very helpful, thanks!

        • No worries, I still have flashbacks from that monstrosity lol. If you can stretch your budget by $100 or so, you can get Q Acoustics bookshelves and centre for $500ish, then Yamaha SW300 for another $500.

Then I'd go with $100 second hand Denon/Onkyo/Yamaha AVR from gumtree or fb market for now, while you save up for surrounds and higher-end AVR. That 3.1 setup will still sound leagues better than Muteki.

Alternatively you can just get the whole lot second hand, there's some bargains out there. A few decent fairly common speaker brands are Q Acoustics, Klipsch, Paradigm and Krix.

    • Would be perfect for those speakers mate

  • I bought this a few months back and return postage was free.Mine had problems on the second day I have a feeling a few others were sent back as you now have to pay for return postage.

  • Having bought the Onkyo TX-RZ50 late last year I do partially regret not getting an AURO-3D compatable receiver. Dolby Atmos is a bit too restrictive in speaker placement especially if you already have speakers installed.

    • Hi Mojomiwo, how good is Auro 3D? Only read about it and is it really worth it?

  • My Samsung qn85a TV only has one hdmi 2.1 port so am looking for a receiver that I could connect both a xbox and playstation 5 to and then pass through the video.

Does anyone have both a xbox and playstation 5 connected to this receiver?

And if so does it work well with hdmi 2.1 pass through for hdr, vrr, 4k120 etc?
