  • 10th gen if you want to use it for that long

Example, iPad 6th Gen (released in 2018) supports IOS 17

envision that kiddo will use it for next 4 to 5 years.

Save yourself some money, and get the 9th Gen, it will last 4-5 years. In terms of storage, unless kiddo is installing heaps of games or taking lots of video, 64Gb is ok, though personally, I'd go 128 as a minimum.

    • 64GB is not okay unless you're just consuming media. Install a few apps, take some photos and videos, and bam, out of storage.

I got 9th gen in September, I think that will last my kid for another 4-5 years

  • You should choose a model with an M1 or M2 processor, which at this point makes iPad Air (5th generation) a solid choice. For primary school: 64GB Wi-Fi. The thing about iPads is the hardware seems to last forever. I sold my 1st gen iPad, gave away my 2nd gen and still have six others in full service.

9th gen for sure. It’s a great buy if you can find it for $450.

64gb is enough as most documents will be in the cloud anyway

    9th.

64Gb is fine unless you want to store a few movies on it.

  • End of school year approaching.
Plenty of grade 6s moving to high school.
    Transitioning from ipad to laptop.
Time to pick up a slightly used gen 9 inexpensively

Ipad 9 for $379.95 (using gift cards) is a good deal.
