When I bought AirTags I waited ages to buy a nicer keyring case on sale rather than no-brand ones. I bought this same case in brown leather and within 2-3 days the plastic edging on the leather had split and was peeling. Personally not impressed with the quality and wish I bought a cheaper silicon one or a more expensive real leather one.

    That being said, fantastic price.

    • Agreed. Get a Belkin one if you have extra to spend. Otherwise good price.

    • Weird! I bought one from a similar deal earlier in the year (in Tan)… it’s been fine. It’s sitting in my bag attached to my keys as we speak. QC issue maybe?

    • I suspect these are the same as the ones I got off Amazon and have the same issue. I'm not too concerned given the overall case seems okay and it was like $15 for 4 of them.

    • i bought the silicone ones and they are still in perfect condition even though they take a beating in my pocket almost daily amongst the other things i have on my key rings (car keys, airpod case, house key, other keys etc etc). I always thought the leather would be garbage in resisting damage caused by movement and friction from other proximate items in a pocket and seems like i was correct. This would be ok if you place them separate in a compartment or away from other things that would rub against them though

    • When I bought AirTags I bought a few no-brand key ring cases based on the recommendations of a few people in OZB rather than waited ages to buy a “nicer” one on sale. The overall quality of the no-brand ones has been great!! Some of them are same as, if not better than the Belkin ones, in terms of build quality.

        do u have a link?

        • Would also like a link please!

To clarify I didn’t wait for the Cygnett one so that it would be a name brand, I waited because I hoped the name brand would be better quality. It doesn’t seem to be, in my case.

Absolutely would prefer a cheaper option if it comes with OzB recommendations so please share

I'm a tight bottom and only got the USD0.95 one here so I don't lose the airtag in my suitcase :P https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005162653246.html

    • How is it holding up ?

      • +1

I haven't lost the airtag yet so I guess it's fit for purpose 🤣

        • +2

And the AirTag is probably the best thing to loose - finding itself where you dropped it

This is more for daily use quality I think. Cheap case just so you have a loop to attach to your luggage is probably the right call anyway haha

I have 2 tan belkin ones. In saying that, I bought from your link.
Not a fan of paying the postage from belkin

    • Wait a minute, how u getting that so cheap it’s showing like 4 bucks for me

      • Only the black hollow one (Black B choice) is that price (AUD1.56)

      You're a what?

      • Tightarse (and no haven't hidden an airtag up there)

    • The real deal’s always in the comments.

I’m a power top. We should hang.

    • Nice

I just bought this at our local TK Maxx for the same price if you want to try your luck.

$6.95 shipping to inner north Melb.

  • on another note, isn't it easy for people to steal/remove if it was attached to a luggage (assuming the primary reason is using this for luggage when travelling domestic/international)?

      U put it inside 😃

      Edit: that's what she said

      • Then how would they ‘show’ they have AirTags 😂 🤔

        • Put a fake one on the outside

  • Bought 3

  • Bought something from Cygnett once and it didn't work. Contacted them and they were not helpful. Left a review of the product on their website and they never published it. Very shady, cherry-picking reviews. Won't buy from them again.

If you are ok with waiting a few weeks for shipping, these can be bought for ~$1.00 off Aliexpress and the quality is fine.

  • I have a mixed bag of experiences with Cygnett, their cables have been good to me, I have a few of these airtag cases and the edging does come off super quick around the keyring bit - having said that, its the only damage it has sustained since purchasing, the edging around the airtag itself is perfectly fine and the tanned leather has aged quite nicely. This is a review on the one that sits on my main keyring with office/house keys banging around it.

I still wouldn't say they are on the same quality level as aliexpress/wish/whatever - these will definitely last longer I can attest to that after trying multiple cheap tag holders, I would still trust this to last longer than $6 worth of those ones will. So I think the sentiment of just buy ali express is a bit of an over exaggeration, but they definitely aren't the quality I have experienced from Cygnett in the past.

  • Got 4 of them 2 days ago coming today, hope the reviews on here aren’t true 💀 i did not want to spend $50 on a single AirTag case

  • I'm sure Apple's one is heaps nice, but a case that costs more than the tag itself is hard to justify.

If it's anything like their latest iPad mini or iPhone 15 synthetic leather replacements, it's probably not heaps nice either :)

  • Bought two for about $20 delivered. They wont have a hard life so hopefully hold up.

  • Not a fan of Cygnett branded stuff. Should be… but I am not.

  • Apple making these things without a hole in them already is the definition of Apple

    • +1

If Apple put a hole in them they would probably call it the aHole
