Sim Card Europe and Uk

I'm not sure if I should post this on mobile or travel.

I am traveling to Europe and the UK next year and am looking for the best-value Sim Card for 24 days. I need probably about 20–30 GB. I managed to get one last year on eBay for $35 that did 30 GB in the UK and Europe, but I can't find it anymore.

Looking for recent priced deals. Also I don't want to move over to Boost/Vodafone for their $5 a day deals.

  • Can you use an eSim? That will be the easiest.

    Take a look on esimdb
Make sure you add filters and change the currency to AUD

Can't vouch for them, but Smarty has Uk 40GB voice plans + 12gb EU roaming all for £10 (~$19.14 AUD). Not sure if you need a Uk address though
Edit: "We can only send our SIMs to UK postal codes."

  • I used these guys recently: https://ukprepaidsimcard.com.au/product/uk-pre-paid-sim-card
    30Gb for $35; worked fine.

  • If you're going to the UK first get a Lebara SIM, I was over there for 6 months and used Lebara for most of the time after EE dropped EU roaming. Lebara had 5G, cheap and reliable, uses the vodafone network in the UK.

Oh well, I assume they're in most countries. Otherwise most airports have a place you can buy a SIM.

          • @JackAtDaisy: Yeah it ain't great, if you can wait until you get into a central town thats ideal.

  • I'm gonna try Lyca next time I go since they have the superior EE coverage

Currently galavanting around Europe using this, I got 15.34gb of EU data for ~$0.35, and then I added a 3gb roaming data pack for UK (~$11)… has worked flawlessly. eSIM has been great, but I’ve definitely noticed a hit to battery life while using the eSIM alongside my Telstra sim (which I’m just using for SMS codes, etc).

    Won’t find cheaper!

  • I bought this sims direct eSIM for 30gb for $56 when it was on sale, which seems like once a month.
    Worked well.

  • Giff-gaff is also worth a look. They use the “3” network.
You can tailor your UK data limit. EU data is limited to 5GB/month. Best bit is they send you a physical sim to your AU address so you can activate before you collect your bags. Remember to cancel monthly renewal

      They use the O2 network

  • Frequent EU traveller, tried several options listed on this forum, now settled on prepaidsims.com.au for the long run.

    Reliability and price.
