I dunno, I got 100 hours out of d4 on release so I'm pretty happy with that, and the best part is, i can play it again in 6 months and add more hours to that woohoo
Dipped without being able to finish S1 battle pass, it was just so arduous and anti-player.
Don't give your time or money to Blizzard when they release products like this.

Last efforts for them to revive a dead game…. I stopped playing halfway through the first season. Got too repetitive and some items like the barber heart was OP and made farming too easy…

This game is totally crap. The lead developer will be sacked. I played for 3 weeks and got sick of it. The graphics was not great and i find the story was everywhere.
For those wondering, the Diablo 3 starter edition came out only 3 months after Diablo 3's release date.

Diablo 5 will likely sell well because most likely diablo 4 will end up being great and people won't remember it had issues / blizzard have great track record continually supporting and improving their games.
Loved Diablo 2 and the remaster, found Diablo 3 boring after launch as higher difficulties just meant more hp + damage for mobs/bosses.
How is Diablo 4 compared to them?

It's only a 'trial'. You will get booted when you reach level 20, unless you buy the game.
It's only worth it so you can experience how bad it is and not waste money trying it out.

Finished the campaign and I genuinely thought the game was pretty fun. But I hate seasons so dropped off. Regrinding the same shit over and over? Not fun. Yeah I've heard that's how Seasons always is, but it's a stupid model that's just lazy. Locking minor new content changes behind a boring grind of the same story with a new character. Yawn
The fact that they think making you grind renown every season is fun is just a joke and artificial way to pad out the season.
But I guess if you have no life you can spend your time grinding the same story every season and pretend like you're having fun.
I'll pick it up again for the campaign when the next expansion comes out.
Oh, level 20 just before Airidah. Can't continue. That sucks. 5 min more would have been good. Guess I'll youtube it.

Let's see if I can help. Not a complete list but some things which bothered me.
-Loot affixes and the myriad of damage types. Means on the rare occasion that it's a blue moon, when the item you are looking for drops it's got some crap affix with a shitty damage type not suited to you so you keep
farmingplaying.-NPC vendors are spaced apart and in frustrating locations in cities/towns so you waste your time running back and forth so the devs can hit some kind of player engagement KPI.
-The last few levels were frustratingly arduous with such little end game content it just made it one of the worst possible grinds. Blizzard didn't think so and with S1 decided to make it even harder for you to get to max level with adjustments to XP and survivability and damage.
-No end game except running the same boring dungeons and world events.
-World boss encounters are over in seconds when players just nuke it with no effort.
I basically quit at S1 when I saw the devs shit on what everyone was calling for and did the exact opposite.
