Just wondering are there different login portals for JB Commercial? Because when I click on the link, it comes up with the 4 pack for $135.59 and the single is $44.12 (+ $5 delivery).

    • really.. but it asked me to login

    • +2

If I recall correctly, prices on JB Commercial varies based on your log-in access.

      • +1

Ah okay, that makes sense. I'm going through a union login, and I'm getting a different price.

  • +4

i think that was cheaper than when it first sold on the samsung ed store

  • +3

So gen 2 are bigger in size. want to stalk my kitten, looks like she is having a boyfriend now

    • Did you find anything that works well for pet tracking?

      • None of the phone based options are great if your pet is the kind to go racing far away from civilisation. The only one I would "suggest" is the Apple Airtag and into the collar itself (google airtag dog collar and you'll see examples where it's not dangling from the collar, and is flush against the collar itself). This is less likely to be dislodged and ingested by the pet, which would be a far worse disaster.

          • +1

@taki: For pet safety, I would hesitate to buy this for this purpose until someone made a collar mount that held it snugly against the collar.

          • @taki: Yeah, according to most reviews they're better than AirTags. Only one place i saw was where they said battery wasn't great, but most places say it's better than AirTags.

I've got the four pack recently.
Haven't really used it too much to know too much. The AR tool can be very helpful to find something if its like hidden in your couch or a blackhole ahaha, I've put one in my keys and 1 in my wallet, it made it a bit more chunky, but it's better than Tile wallet I had, it almost did nothing.

You can use something like this https://amzn.asia/d/gypQTX9

          • @Baby Noodles: My main issue is that I don't have any Apple products so not sure how I could use the AirTags.
With the Samsung ones, does the phone need to be nearby? Ideally I'd like something that I can track remote but I'm guessing I'd need some kind of repeater or such at my place to bounce the trag signal through.

            • @DoomTrooper: The one I linked is for the Samsung Tag which I use for my dog. You can definitely track it remotely as I can see it moving every time my partner takes her out for a walk through the SmartThings app.

This also helped me have peace of mind when travelling and "keeping an eye" on my luggages.

            • @DoomTrooper: All of these require someone who is also enrolled in that company's Find My network to be nearby. It doesn't necessarily have to be your phone, just someone else with the compatible handset to ping it.

I use it for travel a lot to make sure my checked bag came with and didn't get left behind.

            • @DoomTrooper: Do yourself a favour and buy a real pet tracking device like tractive that use GPS aswell as the find my device and Bluetooth like airtag and smart tags. A far better service that actually works.

              Example: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tractive-gps-dog-4-dog-tr…

              • @CauseNEffect: I'm trying to avoid anything that requires a specific subscription as I'm not worried about my dog escaping or such.
It's more to see how lazy she when I'm not home :D

      • Using apple airteg atm, but have to use ipad for it (android phone user), so can't spy kitty when I'm outside

        • I’ve not tried it, but it doesn’t show ip on icloud.com?

      • I use the gen 1 smarttag+ on my 2 dogs. They don't hang far down with a small split ring, never get wet from drinking etc. Nor do they catch on anything. I've put silicon covers on mine too.

What's the best way to still sign up to JB commercial?

  • +1

Note that samsung tags only work with samsung phones, not all android. Its so dumb.

    • Is that true?

      • +6

Yep :( google it. Dunno why people are downvoting. Samsung fanboys maybe. I even have a smart tag from when i had a samsung and couldn't figure out why my pixel wouldnt detect it.

        • -1

Im ok with that samsung rules. Cant wait for the S24

  • +3

Origin customer access gets me $47.23 and $145.13

  • +1

westpac doesn't show anything in rewards, saying error showing any rewards, resolving issue.

    • Yup tried it and got this as well

      • Got into JB Hifi commercial this way but can't find any SmartTag at all

        • They haven't got the name formatted in the typical way. I logged in through Westpac and had the same problem initially. Just search 'Tag2' instead of 'SmartTag2' and they ought to come up. $41.02 for the single and $126.04 for the four-pack.

    • Hi! Just wondering if westpac rewards is different from westpac altitude rewards? I'm very keen on this awesome discount via westpac.
How did you get access to jb hifi commercial via westpac?

      • +1

I believe is different. I only have a bank account with WPAC, but for me to access the WPAC Rewards, I login to my account, and at the top bar there is a Rewards & Offers tab (click that). There'll be a bunch of offers there, and JB Hi-Fi is listed as one, click that, it'll take you to a blurb about it, and a "Shop Online" red button - click that. It'll take you to the JB Business page, which does offer different pricing based on how you got referred there - WPAC has better pricing on the Tag2 than Phoenix Rewards, whilst the OP has even better rates.

        • Yes! Finally was able to get it. Thank you so much for your help!.
Yeah OP has the best offer but I'd still take 126 over 169 for 4.
I wonder what Corp OP has. Interesting to know. Nweiz.
          Thanks again!

  • I did the Origin one as I do not have commercial access price is still better than $169 retail.

Can these be used with non Samsung phones?

    • +5

Nope. Your best bet is installing the Google Find My Device app and purchasing a compatible Chipolo tracker.

Unless you're with Apple, then Airtags are the no-brainer.

      • +1

Thanks for the advice, in an android/apple mixed household, would you recommend using Chipolo? Could an apple user track a chipolo?

        • +1

Chipolo make trackers that can be used by Apple, and trackers that can be used by Google/Android, but the "Find My platforms" aren't compatible.

You could opt for a third-party platform that can be used on both Android and iOS. Chipolo has their own stand-alone platform, and so does Tile, but I don't really recommend those stand-alone platforms because they just don't have the same coverage.

Just convince your family to give up their iPhones :P

          • @bestroadtech: Great summary, good point about the coverage as the lack of would essentially render this device useless haha.

            Convincing family is…..haha…

  • +1

Thanks for the post. Got the 4 pack for $126 (~25% off), which is better than 20% offered at the education store 2 weeks ago.

  • Can't use the gift card in JB commercial

  • How do we get JBHIFi commercial?

    • If you Google that, the first result will explain the methods. It will take ~24hrs to be approved.

  • Coming up as $140ex on my JB Business account

  • +1

Through the ART Super portal gives OPs pricing for those wondering.

    • i'm a member but the "unlock this reward" button on the JB page of their rewards section doesn't do anything for me

      • should be fixed now, I had the same issue

  • does this work how apple does? (apple uses all ios devices), doe Samsung use all android devices?

    • You are almost, but not quite, literally comparing Apples to oranges. All iOS devices are Apples. Not all Androids are Samsungs and thus these only work with Samsung devices.

      • Hopefully android comes out with one

        • Google been working on one for a while.

      • +1

Yeah he's asking if the Samsung one uses all android devices.

        • +1

You're right. I should have said something like 'these only work with Samsung devices'

  • What physical size are these?

    • +2

Astoundingly enough, the exact dimensions that it says on a Google search

  • +1

Do these emit signals all the time, only sometimes, or do they just react to signals sent to them?

    • +2

They emit signals all the time. But only certain Samsung phones with a certain software configuration are listening for those signals.

If you aren’t in the same location as the tag, and there are no properly configured Samsung phones near to the tag, you won’t know where the tag is.

  • +1

Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from the last gen smarttags plus with uwb?

    • +1

At least you can buy them from a domestic bricks and mortar store, is about the biggest change.

  • +4

Idk if it helps staff is aprox. $30ish, and 4pk is $80ish

  • These are great. Work better than my airtags and sometimes even better than my Airbolts which cost a lot more.

  • Membership bollocks

  • I got a flat battery already after 10 days use…. Why me?

    • On this new one? 10 days is definitely nowhere near reasonable. I have the ST+ and those are dead within 3-6 months which is bs compared to the Airtags at over 12mo…

  • I have JB Commercial but they migrated me to JB Business. is this the same thing?
    154.68 for me :(

  • I am interested to buy it but I don't have access.

    • Westpac customer gets access.

  • Hmm 4 pack gone from WPAC rewards.

  • Hi, has anyone got a good deal on the 4 packs in the last few days?
