Just noticed a price drop (37% discount) on these and ordered some. Worked out to be $280.43 AUD a unit shipped to CBR. Please also note that as far as we know, Toshiba does not provide international warranty (thx Alvian).

I see JW used to sell this at $279: https://www.jw.com.au/product/toshiba-n300-8tb-3-5-sata-7200…, while there are only a few resellers got other capacities of N300 in stock, mostly out of stock by now.

Unless you need to pair this up with an existing array, this is even more expensive than sourcing local stock of proper enterprise drive from WD and Seagate, no discount considered.

Would rather spend an extra $9 and get a 8TB Ironwolf from Umart/MSY.

    $35 per tb…thats expensive

I won't trust the shipping to handle the hdd with care especially if its coming from overseas. And that too without a warranty!

The box they come in are retail boxes which are packed tight with foam. Ive bought 4 Toshiba drives from Amazon (one bought last year, the others in 2016) for my NAS and they have been flawless. I have no idea if the "no international warranty" is even true but Ive never needed them

I've never had a Toshiba HDD. I mainly use Seagate or WD. What's your opinion on their quality compared to other brands?? Are yours CMR or SMR?

Why the neg vote on this comment? It's a very reasonable excuse, as a LOT of HDD's get damaged in transport when posted from overseas. Some from inadequate packing and tumbling around, no posted in anti-static bags. Read some reviews from newegg and make your own mind up. Even from people on ozbargain. Some spend $1000 per HDD and have to send them back from damage.
I'd rather buy local stock to avoid this crap from happening.

      • Toshiba HDDs are packaged tight in their box with foam and bags of air.
