    Charge it in office daily

A cool 22kg to take into the office every day on the train. Slip it into your pocket daily and embrace the savings.

Same price as this bluetti , which seems a little better on paper. Slightly higher capacity, wireless charging pads, 4yr vs 2yr warranty.

Bluetti charges at only 500W from the wall, unlike the itechworld. In addition, I have read thatafter sales support for the Bluetti has been spotty, when things go wrong with the power station, even when under warranty.

      • Bluetti charges at only 500W from the wall,

1000w with a 2nd 12VDC Power supply, but I doubt only 500W is a problem for most people. Campers typically charge from car or solar, and people using daily can still get a a full charge overnight. Itechworld is nice since it doesn't need an external 12VDC power supply, but means there's another internal component that can potentially fail and bulk to carry around.

I can't really speak on after sales support but double the warranty wins I reckon.

Bluetti is known as a premium brand, with 4 year warranty over 2 its a no brainer

  • how long can it last a camp fridge for?

    • +1

As long as it's already cooled when you plug it in, and would vary on the size as well. I believe it can be about 48 hours. It would last a weekend.

Could get a solar blanket as well to help keeping it topped up during the day.

      • Do you know if there is a calculator available i want to run a 75L dual fridge for 2-3 days

        https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/fridges-cooler…

        • +3

          https://www.batterystuff.com/kb/tools/calculator-sizing-a-ba… but https://www.batteriesinaflash.com/battery-run-time-calculato… looks better.

That fridge says it draws about 4.6 amps at 12V. 4.6 amps / 160 amp hour battery = about 34 hours.

If you got a Solar Blanket which would charge 11 amps at full rate, then it would charge it as well as power the fridge. Even at 50%, it would be enough to keep the battery at level.

If my electrical calculations are about right.

          • @geekcohen: 34hrs geeze that is not alot thanks for that okay its just AH / product Amp required

            • +1

              @George Washington: Correct.

That is if its drawing maximum current for a full hour. Could just tickle on and off as it gets to temp like a normal home fridge.

              • @geekcohen: I assume so, if the fridge sits in the car and it gets hot i would not be surprised if it runs at maximum current

                • +1

@George Washington: Exactly. A cover can help keep it cool. I have mine in my canopy and it trickles on and off. I have a 100AH AGM in a battery box and it works pretty well, does my day trips and some work stuff with a DC to DC charger. Just got a solar blanket and tried it on Saturday afternoon which worked pretty well.

If you were going long distances and doing it regularly, then investing in a different solution and maybe even bigger (200AH +) and solar on the roof would be better.

Stuff is so cheap now that you can get bits and put it all together. I think mine has cost about about $1200 all up. Just need the knowledge and you can create a reasonable setup reasonably cheap.

Otherwise something like this is plug-and-play for people who want that.

@geekcohen: I currently have a Makita Fridge My god its good leave at job site or for parties plug in keep the drinks nice and chilled. So forth.

I use it for overnight trips or day to day trips 2 x 18 volt batteries (old ones) lasts in the tray for about 24hrs at 5 degrees. Looking for something more permanent or portable power. Was thinking of a battery box but not a fan of loosing the tub space.

Dual battery setup with a 12 volt socket in the back.

Or.. see in 2025 if Toyota releases a new Hilux with a 12 volt socket in the back

You can make it pretty compact. I've got mine in a small cabinet which has two drawers for storage.

Dual battery setup with a 12 volt socket in the back.

                      Exactly what I have done.

This isn't already in a Hilux!? Its in my 2021 Ranger!

                    • +1

@George Washington: If you're always going to have your ute nearby (and plan on keeping it for a while) then a dual battery setup makes sense.

If not I'd be going for one of these portable power stations. You could probably get away with the 50Ah or 100Ah to save $$ and space.

My guys have been off road with this fridge and a bluetti AC200 Max for the last week running this brand fridge and starlink (switched off starlink overnight) and its been fine.

Paired it with a 280W panel from BCF and it never dropped below 30% the whole time.

280W panel juiced it up during the day so it ran great.

About 30 hours but depends on your fridge…low wattage ones run at anywhere between 70-100 watts

Also depends how much you open and close it i guess.

  • Nice looking unit but not at that price. $2,699 looks more like the RRP for those specs, not the discount price. You can pick up a Bluetti 2000 for $1999 - much better value.
