These are very good portable headphones for the price. The HM3 won't sound as good as the HM5 but is fantastic value at US$38.50 since you get a free stand worth around US$25 on their website. Have gone for US$35 on OzBargain in the past but the difference is that you get a quality stand for a few bucks more.

These are based on OEM Yoga headphones used by Fisher Audio (FA-004) and a variety of other cheaper ones like Incipio F38. But because you can't get them at Jaycar or MWave like the HM5s, this is the next best deal. You can occasionally get them for US$26 at Amazon but that's for US customers.

Some prefer to buy their own earpads and the clamping can be tight at the beginning, but should loosen up over time like the HM5.

    Oh, might be worth mentioning they are on holiday at the moment due to public holidays in HK - "MP4 Nation office will be closed from today and will reopen on Wednesday Oct 3rd. Whilst we are closed support tickets may not be replied to and orders will not be shipped out till we reopen."

      He he yep. I'd say its similar to many KOSS products, amazing sound. Crappy build quality. I love my KSC-75's but many the plastic-ness of them can disappoint you at first.

      M4 is good, and i got sucked into buying the Betaz, which sounds alright for the price, but my god the build quality of Betaz is pretty bad. I had to open a support ticket for the two set of Betaz within 2 weeks of getting them.

      I just got ordered the HM3, lets see whether this product is good or a junk.

      You would think that Brainwavez would invest slightly more money in their product quality (i.e. using higher quality glues).

      To be honest, the low-end Brainwavz products have horrible build quality i.e. Betas and Alphas. I wouldn't buy them. The M1 is a bit plasticky but pretty durable. The rest are pretty solid.         that is pretty good review for a headphone of this price. I like the Brainwavez design better from the picture posted on the web.

        I wish MP4 nation can do discounts on their DAC too.

      was tempted, but all the reviews are mostly from people who don't use a separate amp. The reviews all point to the headphones doing better with a burn in first though.

        Burn in is audiophile voodoo, as is the benefits of amping in many cases.

          Yeah, I figured that if you get a set of lower-end headphones and the cheapest amp available you can't be looking at anything too spectacular. Probably be better off putting your amp money towards better headphones. On top of that, I listen to mid-quality MP3s, a cheap amp probably isn't going to help, so the sound quality another reason why I've never noticed burn in making any difference).

    Ordered today, hopefully not too late on these. Seem a fairly good bet for the price. Been looking around a lot for semi-decent cans (considering I break nearly everything don't want anything pricey) but can't seem to find too much quality on the cheap. Long shipping does suck but hopefully end product's worth it

    FYI only, my pair arrived a couple of weeks ago. They aren't bad for the price, nothing spectacular though. Look very sturdy. Very tight clamp on the head - not too uncomfortable, but you feel the heat. Oh, and the plastic ear pieces on my glasses got crushed, so I guess it does hug pretty tight.

    Cable is very short - definitely intended to be portable.

    The post pack didn't have any padding so the box came all beaten up and the stand cracked. Apparently they are shipping me a new stand.
