Mio GPS Summer Sale - $289 for latest models Mio 300 at Harvey Norman's!

50

I saw some ads for cheap GPS's but they are all the crap 3.5" screen models. The Mio 300 has only been released about 3 months ago, and pack all the features of the GPS's that Tom Tom and Navman provide but at a cheaper price. Check out these specs:

4.3" Widescreen.
Spoken Street Names.
600,000 POI
Extended safety alerts.
Map Version NAVTEQ 2008.

Go to Harvey Norman to get it and I'm pretty sure they will give you a further discount, like maybe another 5% off just for asking.
Mio 300 is definitely far better value for money! My friend bought one the other day and he loves it. Says it is highly recommended!

You can look through the rest of the catalogue but I am pretty sure the Mio 300 is the lowest price for 4.3" screen anywhere!

The cheapest that I can find via Shopbot is $258.95. Whilst that may be a fairly decent screen, though the deal isn't the best around to qualify as a 'bargain'.

The cheapest price on Shopbot also comes with the following extras -

    • 1 of Ryda 4.3" GPS Carry Pouch ($39.95 value!)
    • 1 of GPS Screen Protector 4.3 Inch ($19.95 value!)
    • +1 ryda.com.au prices are always the best one

Mio's are hands down the best GPS on the market. They are now the parent company of Navman and use the Navman UI on their new series, which I personally think is the easiest to use.

Speed cameras and safety zones are preloaded, typically* Garmin/Tomtom do not have these loaded.

Via redemption you will also get a free 3 year warranty and carry case. They are the only 'big' GPS company that also provide you with an AC wall charger to charge at home. Garmin don't even give you a damn USB cable to connect to the computer.

While the price isn't the 'best', it's not bad, and these GPS units are brilliant so I will give it a +1 :)

    • A MIO rep :P

      • Hah nah, I do know the Mio rep and he's a nice bloke. I work at a retailer that sells these things so I have a pretty good idea of which GPS units have been naughty or nice. They actually did give a whole heap of GPS units to a lot of the staff but I missed out on that, and had to pay for my Mio C520. Makes me appreciate it more though :)

  • MIO has moved away from Whereis. All of their new model will use NAVTEQ for mapping. i'm not sure how that good.

  • Don't forget Harvey Normad had these Mio Moov 300's for $198 last week, so don't get too carried away. And I just got Pissed o** at Harvey Norman. Did you know you are not allowed to return anything there, even with the receipt if you just change your mind? I returned a brand new GPS system there in the box. Box still had the seal. Hadn't even touched it. Still had the price tag and had my receipt from 2 days before, and they didn't even want to do a refund. How cheeky! I might steer clear of Harve Norman from now on just because of this unless they have some super sale that I feel like get a bargain on. How rude! I felt like jumping on it and saying it had a cracked screen and I needed to return it because it was faulty!!!!

    • Geees mate looks like Harvey Norman still have their "get lost" policy when it comes to returns and exchanges! My mate bought a computer game from them back in the late 90's and well they basically said we won't exchange or refund the game. He couldn't play the game as his computer or graphics card at the time wouldn't support that particular game that he purchased and all he wanted was to at least change it for another game that he could play or if not a refund, but nope Harvey Norman didn't want to know us as long as they got their money you can bugger off now! and well still to this day we have never bought anything from harvey norman and never will. I only go there to browse and have a laugh that's about it these days…lol

      • It's just a bit rude isn't it! I went there with a plan to buy a portable DVD player from them on the same trip, but after that stuffed if I was going to! I'll go buy it from Dick Smith or someone else up the street. I will buy from there if I think there is a massive discount on an item that they are discounting below wholesale price to get you in the door. Then I'll go buy it and walk right out.
