Help. Searching for Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P255DW Driver

Hi OzBargainers, I've been searching for the driver for my beloved Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P255DW printer.

Fuji Xerox (now Fuji Film) has removed all the support of this model from their website. I contacted their live chat and an universal driver was given. However, installed, everything I printed came out as blank sheets.

I am wondering if anyone still holds the original CD that came with the printer, which would include its driver. Hoping to get a Win 64 bit (Win 8 or above) version. Could you kindly share it with me if possible?

Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P255DW used to be OzBargainer's favourite printer back in the day. I've got it for $79 since 2015 and was still going strong until I recently upgraded my laptop. :'(

Many thanks for your assistance.

@bobokingdom sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I just got home from work and tried your driver. OMG it works!!!!!
Much appreciated. Hope that this thread will help people who experience the same issue in the future.

I had a similar problem with a FJ C1110 colour laser that I needed to get running on a new Win11 laptop. Fuji no longer provide drivers, and I couldn't find one anywhere. I eventually managed to get it running with a different driver, but the laptop is at home so I can't check it - I'll update with another post when I get home. I seem to recall that I used a PCL6 or PS driver from another Fuji model. I think that your printer is PCL6, so you'll probably be able to do the same thing.

The driver that I installed is called Xerox Office PCL6 Color Class Driver V1.2 and it works well for my Fuji printer.

Windows has a Xerox Office PCL6 Class Driver V1.2 that may work for you. Select Xerox as the manufacturer.

      • @jetson Thanks so much for the info and follow-up. I really appreciate it.
I confirm that the Xerox global driver provided by bobokingdom above works perfectly.
(V3 Xerox Global Print Driver PCL6)
It looks like it could be the same driver as yours?

This may or may not work.

I found a PCL driver package here

Although the page describes these as postscript drivers, the contents of the top one

    Driver Version: 1.0.0.0
    Release Date: 2006-11-17
    File Size: 72.03K

says it is the pcl driver for your printer. I downloaded it to have a look (safe to download, file name is xerox_dp255_Vista64.zip) - the readme.txt has installation instructions.

As it it not a neat retail package installation with a setup.exe ,you'll have to try the driver installation method with windows - I think you just need to initiate an Add printer dialogue with your windows installation and get it to the point that it prompts for 'have disk' and point it to the unzipped contents of the download.

    Might work….

@Dolt2020 Much appreciated for investigating the driver and even taking a step further to test it for me. I feel so blessed.
The driver link provided by bobokingdom above worked well. I'll just use it for now.

I have had success with Generic Carts from MSY and https://www.inkdepot.com.au/compatible-ct201918-black-toner-… if that is part of your problem.

Thanks for your help @holdenmg. I was referring to the printer driver but the toner provided could be handy in the future, too.

  • did this printer ever work with macs/anyone know of a mac driver out there somewhere? cheers
