Has anyone had success updating the firmware to version 1003.6 ?
If so, was it done via USB flash drive ("NO DATA" error) or the Samsung SmartThings App ("Update interrupted" error)?
I'm just about to pack it all up and send it back to Samsung.
I’m getting the same errors. Were you able to resolve these?
Samsung technician/courier is coming tomorrow to pick it up.

1. Unable to upgrade firmware via USB flash drive or SmartThings App.
2. Makes loud static, buzzing, and crackling noises a few seconds shortly after media is paused or stopped.
3. Unable to turn Soundbar on with Alexa Voice from standby.
The soundbar itself has been disappointing, but the Samsung after sales service has been exceptional.
FYI. Samsung just released new firmware with new instructions. Updated with USB without any issue. Cheers
@mkbsd: Samsung technicians came and picked up the soundbar earlier this morning.
It would have been nice to know that they were working on a new update.
Samsung is definitely not a company known for its quality assurance & testing.
Samsung often release software updates with known defects and then having to follow up with further updates after customer complaints.
Can I run these with just the soundbar and subwoofer? As it will take me a bit to mount / wire up the power for the rear speakers…
There is an option in the settings to set the rear speakers as "Front" and use them as extra front/surround speakers if you like.

Anyone running this soundbar on a non Samsung TV and do they work ok without the Samsung Q-Symphony?
I find the soundbar's front & center drivers loud enough, don't really see the need to use the TV speakers. It is the rear surround drivers that are lacking in volume even when set to their max increased volume.

you actually might be better of buying via the normal Samsung store rather then the education store. There is a 50% off voucher in the Samsung Member app (benefits section) + you get 10% off your first purchase in the samsung shop app. All this dropped it to $599 for me
