  • Good deal!

  • So the wifi locations on ground are they accessible with Boingo as well?

    • Yes, but as per previous comments, not very reliable

      • How about wifi connections on airlines?

      • I had better luck with ground, than airlines (0). But of course things change and depends where you go.

I don't think MC are offering that Boingo wifi any more. It's flexiroam. https://mastercard.flexiroam.com/

Edit: Which is nowhere near as good.

    • Thanks, removed that part

    • But that's mobile data, not Wi-Fi. And can be used everywhere, not just in the airlplane.
      Do you know their prices?

How does it work? If you have multiple devices (or flying with friends) can each of you use the same account?

Works on one device at a time as per this comment.

The last time I used in-plane wifi I logged in to the wifi on my phone and hotspotted it to my tablet.

        • how do you hotspot wifi? Unless you mean you tethered it with a cord.

@outlander: Not sure about other phones, but on Samsung phones you can share your wifi connection over wifi.

You can test it on the ground - if you turn your mobile hotspot on, your wifi won't turn off. If you connect another device to the phone's hotspot and check the ip it shoud be your wifi connection's ip and not your telco.

            • @eug: Only on recent Samsung phones. My old S8+ would turn off the wifi if I switched the hotspot on.

I did it on my S8 as well, but it took a bit of fiddling with adb and the SetEdit app.

(you only use adb to give permission to SetEdit to change settings)

          • @outlander: Bluetooth tethering.

  • Unfortunately using Jetstar to Japan so can't use this.

  • Singapore Airlines already provide free wifi for Krisflyer members on most of their planes.

  • Anyone purchased from Turgame lately? I have troubles checking out. It disallowed me saying I was using vpn while I was not…

  • Having issues ordering from Turgame. Was charged yet order is stuck on "Authentification" for now 1 week lol.
Support is nowhere to be found after 2 tickets raised. I suspect the owner of the website passed away.

  • Didn't work for my recent flights on AA, BA or CX. Couldn't get it to connect through the app or through the inflight wifi page. The inflight wifi page asks for a Boingo username and password, but didn't have those since purchased through itunes.

Edit: Looks like the Boingo Unlimited Plan doesn't include access to in-flight wi-fi, it's only included for MC. Don't want to neg the post, but pretty pointless for most of us if it doesn't work in-flight. Bummer.
