  • Just throwing it out there, this is probably a bit more worth it: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B01B8R6PF2/ref=ox_sc_ac…

    • I was just in the process of posting these batteries and asking for people's thoughts on the Amazon Basics batteries.

What are OzBargainers experiences with these?

      • +2

I get them for the kids. They are much better than Kmart Anko ones and there are quite few reviews out there stating that they are pretty good.

I'd recommend Varta AA batteries (made in Germany) available in a pack of 30 for $11.98 at Bunnings. They have worked very well in all types of devices I've used them in where cheaper ones couldn't cut it.

I was just about to suggest the same. Cheaper but still a good brand and have worked great so far.

        • i thought i read on some thread that they only have the non-german ones now and not as good?

          • @ccrap: My last set were definitely German but if they have changed then I'll need to reassess. My fallback would always be Energizer (never Duracell… too many leaks).

      • +1

I've been using the Amazon Basics AAA alkaline batteries for about a year and they've been wonderful, have had no problems. Have not noticed worse or better performance compared to anything else. As far as I'm concerned, these are great — I'll be picking up the Amazon Basics AA batteries when they go on sale next.

  • Coles have 24 duracell for $14.50 (1/2 price) at the moment. 60c each

  • When I was a kid I remember if you wanted AA batteries they only came in 2 or 4 packs and were very expensive.

    • The rapid evolution to lithium ion rechargeable batteries

    • They were like gold in the past. I remember eating in Cabramatta and this random guy walk up and saying “batteries?” and he offered a bag worth of Energizers for only $20.
Easily 100 AA in that bag.
