US $50 Free Credit at Hotelclub - Again!

260

EDIT 3-12 CLOSED, LINK DEAD.

It's back again, hotelclub is like a revolving door of free credit! Just have to say which foxtel channel you saw this promotion on (but no proof asked). Crdit is US$50 which is good with the current exchange rate.

Don't seem to be able to use it with the previous 'hack' of $30 added credit for Christmas. But you can easily become a new customer just by choosing a new email address - I've got ?5 accounts now ;-), main problem is remembering which one has the credit!

Anyone tried booking consecutive nights at a hotel under different accounts? Would it mean checking in and out every day?

    • I think you can probably get away with it. Haven't tried it, but I think you could show the hotel your two HotelClub vouchers for the consecutive nights.

I guess it'd depend on the hotel and how they work.

  • if anyone works out a way to add this $50 onto my other $80 please share - i'm loving this hotelclub

  • So.. umm.. Which FoxTel channel did I see this mentioned on again?

    Update: ohh.. it's a drop-down. I'm an idiot :)

  • Can someone put the direct link - I can't access it through the shortcut :(

Oh and if this helps, my partner & I signed up for accounts each. He used his credit for one night, and I used mine for the next

We let them know on check-in, so they did not have to clean the room etc. They had already noticed the last name was the same & had booked us in for the same room for two nights :)

  • -> Natt :) That's great to hear :)
-> SeanBySydney :P Revolving but you also may have to fork out a fair bit (I guess depending where you stay)
Also, it wasn't a hack :P They wanted to give us a Christmas present
(that's what the e-mail they sent me said …)
    -> Car-la-la I'm pretty sure they don't want people to do that ;) …

  • This foxtel offer has been around for quite some time. I've stayed at hotels overseas for free using my free credits with no problems. The best deal had to be the $50+$50 offered a while back (did not last long) but the recent $50+$30 works out better because of the current exchange rate. I too, like many other people, have created several accounts under the same name using different e-mail addresses and have used up all of my free credits and I've never experienced any problems. It's a shame that you can't get much, if anything, for $50USD in Australia but overseas, South-east Asia for example, you can stay at a decent hotel for that price.

  • How does it work?

Does it deduct $50 US at the checkout when you enter your credit card details? Does it charge your card straight away?

I want to take my gf away for a night for her birthday but i don't want her finding out i did it cause i had $50US (around $75 aussie credit) to kill.

    • haha thats quite funny mdell. (as a girl myself, i'd be stoked if my partner booked a night away for us- regardless whether a voucher was used to suplement the payment)

anyway to answer your question - its super easy..
      sign up an account
the $50 will be in your account when you next log in (appears instantly)
then make sure you are still logged into your account
      select your dates
      go to book
fill in all your details on the booking sheet
then when it goes to payment page
it will ask you whether you would like to include the $50USD in your payment yes/no
in your case obviously select yes
then when you go to submit your credit card details it will say the exact amount you are authorising them to charge your credit card (and hopefully this works out to the hotel cost - $50 USD)

i think its a sweet idea
(if u happen to have 2 email address' sign up both of them, get the $100 US credit, and make it a weekend away)

      goodluck with it

any other problems just ask :)

  • oh and btw there is no way she will find out - the cost/payment method etc isn't stated anywhere on the confirmation that you have to present to the hotel

  • In the sign up page, it says the free credit valid before Jan 31, 2009, but in the account summary, Member Dollars Valid Until: 30-Nov-2010. Does everyone get the same date?

    • it expires 2009.. dont be deceived by the 2010. i lost $50 of the $80 from the other bargain ($30+$50) because I went by the later expiry =(

  • ah ok…i got worried and told here.

Were staying 4 nights so gonna try 4 seperate emails at 2 different hotels

  • link not working
