Saw Mercusys switched hidden behind rack trolleys. Upon checking 5port is $22 while 8port is $5, maybe a pricing error by staff.
Dont think they are many left, they are on the rack near laybay counter hidden behind trolleys. I had to squeeze in to get it.
Mercusys is owned by TP-Link if anyone is wondering.
Far as I can tell, it's a sub-brand aimed at the Indian market. I wonder how a bunch of them ended up diverted to Oz.
It's amazing that you can get a five port switch for less than the price of a sandwhich.
They've been sold all over for years. That was probably their original intention and figured there's a market for cheap.
I found this same switch on clearance randomly a while ago and it's been working well so far!

It's a listing for both the MS105G and MS105GP. That review is for the MS105GP as indicated by the style name.
MS105G/108G no PoE.
MS105GP/MS108GP has PoE.
Because there's a variant that does do PoE, and Amazon groups the two together. If you look at the subheading of those reviews they're for the model that does PoE.
The model in this post does not do PoE.

It’s not on the web site, only the 5-port. FWIW, I’ve contacted both Launceston and Burnie stores in TAS - Launnie didn’t have any but Burnie has a few of the 8-port, which the staff member said scanned at $5. I didn’t check Devonport, but it looks like they have plenty of the 5-port so there’s a good chance they’ve got the 8-port, too.
Went to Westfield Parramatta again today and thought I would check stock on the shelves, and didn't see any 8port left.
Not sure if this post should be marked as OOS/expired, as others have mentioned other stores are on same price.

Mercusys is owned by TP-Link if anyone is wondering. I picked up a 5 port for $15 a while ago at MSY and no complaints. Hopefully my local Kmart is $5.
