  • I owned the single version of this for about a year, it was an okay swag. Had the pole at the feet end snap on me at some point. Certainly not worth the RRP but for this price it's a good swag.

    • Awesome!

I've had this for about 7 years. Paid about $300 i think. The pvc floor is handy. I did have a pole snap a couple of years ago and they were expensive to replace. The middle alloy pole goes inside the swag making it a pita. I bought a spreader bar on ebay, otherwise you need to peg out each end to stop the ends folding inwards and to keep it upright. Great swag for this price. I'm looking at upgrading and thinking of a 23zero swag.

    • Great review. Second the pita middle pole. If you are using once or twice per year this is great but wish I had spent extra also.

    • What's the purpose of the spreader bar? I've got a double swag (King's brand) which only has two poles. That means the sides cave in rather than sit out round. Makes it super claustrophobic. It only gets used once or twice a year so don't really want to invest in a new swag. Does a spreader bar stop the sagging? Google's got me confused. Thanks

      • What's the purpose of the spreader bar?

Spreader bar stops the sagging. There is some rope on the top of each end which gets pegged put, this stops the ends from collapsing in. The spreader bar means you don't have to peg it buy honestly using a couple of pegs takes 30 seconds. I don't like feeling claustrophobic either. There is plenty of room in this swag.

        • Yeah, I saw the tutorials about using the guy rope to pull out the canvas from either end, but it looks like the flyscreen still sags when you do that.

  • Looking for advice

2 adults, 2 under 10 kids.. is a 6 person or 8 person better? Looking at the Coleman range of tents

    • One for the adults and one for the kids? If they're <6 I can understand not.

Min 8 person for me, we have a 10 person for our family which gives lots of space and room for belongings (we car camp / usually stay in caravan parks with other families) Usually tents are sized if people are sleeping literally right next to each other… so why upsizing is my recommendation if wanting my space / not being on top of each other though depends what kind of camping you do.

    • if we are talking about the same tent, go for the 8 ppl version. It is slightly different design (better). However as Mike444 said, at that age 2 tents is a better idea.

    • I have a 10p oztrail tent and wouldnt want anything smaller for 2 adults 2 kids. Our tent has 3 rooms, each can fit a queen size bed so can do a double or queen bed for adults in 1 room then 2x singles or a bigger bed for kids to share.

    This or a kings?

  • 13 kg swag with a built-in mattres. Surely meant for camping with a car.

But why would you bother with heavy this 2-person cramped tent if you could take virtually anything else in the car?
