Coles Digital Mastercard No Longer Accessible?

I have two Coles Digital Mastercards left from the sale in August and when I try access it with the link from the email, I get an error of "A system error has occured". This isn't happening on my used cards. Have these last 2 cards been hacked?

          A group of friends and I used to all have very similar usernames across the interwebs for lolz, but I’m not familiar with that one.
          I beat em to the punchline though.

  • I have a few cards with small balances from thar sale,
    Giftcards.com.au. I have just checked and I can see the balance. Try again tomorrow and if no luck you will need to contact them.

    • I can see one that has $150 left. But two wholly unused ones I can't, which makes me think they were hacked as someone is trying to make a $250 transaction on them.

      • In that case, you should be able to see that they have nil balance and where they were spent. It may be that hacking was attempted and the card was locked because of it therefore you cannot see it. I used to lock the physical cards when that was allowed - several months ago - and when that happened I could not see the balance. Hopefully, that is the case and when you call them they can unlock. I always spend these hards within hours of receiving them and out of hundreds have had no issues.

  • Let me guess, you purchased multiple cards and you were checking all the gift card balances one by one.
    The server probably has some protection and disables balance check if too many checks are done from same system/IP address in a short amount of time.
    It happened to me few weeks ago. Today, I checked again and they are fine.
    Maybe try to check from your phone using a different network (data) and see if you get the balance.

  • I have the exact same issue with my cards. Was told to wait 24-48hrs then clear cache and try again. NFI if that'll work, but I'll wait and see. They didn't seem to want to help any further than that.

  • I have the same issue, able to see cards that have been partially or completely used but unable to access my cards that haven't been used yet. Call centre wasn't helpful yesterday, they just stated it was a known issue and would try have it fixed after the weekend. I'm still getting the same error message today.

    • nope, calling the coles mastercard hotline is pointless too because i don't the card number and the order was placed via giftcards.com.au, so they'll have to get it unblocked for me. you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to do right!

        Update: My card just started working again, not sure how/why
        Have now copied the card number and will use it up ASAP

  • Same here, just the one card out of 10 doesn't work
    Emailed giftcards and they acknowledge a MasterCard issue
    Told them to escalate and was then told to ring them
    Might email them asking for a refund
    What a waste
