  Download the book. It's only 267 pages. Well, you can go through these pages in one week. But you only got the text, not the technology.

    Anyone who has the faintest idea about C++ would be falling over laughing at the idea of learning it in a week no matter what you read / did.

    Spoiler: Nobody is going to hire you if you think you learnt C++ in one week.

      It's not how long it takes you to learn C++. The issue is the book itself. It only talks about the basics and then provide pointers on what you need to practice and learn. The reason it switches to C# is the author is slack and doesn't want to really go through harder topics (and I am being nice to the author).

      There is a reason why the book is free. Not sure whether there is any change to Computer Science university courses. Normally, C++ is something you learn in the second year and with this book, because it goes through so little on C++, you will fail by just reading only this book. From a brief check, the book doesn't help beginners understand polymorphism properly, and that's one thing you will definitely be tested on (as that's considered one of the fundamentals and one thing to quickly find out if the person has zero idea about a language like C++).
