Not the best deal, I got this watch recently for $880 from JB Hi Fi, I'd hold off for black friday.

      7 pro?

      • -3

I stand corrected mine is the original 7x. I still think it isn't worth the extra $400 for a new HR sensor though.

        • +1

Good thing that isn't the only change then.

Also, was yours sapphire and solar? If so, that's a phenomenal price… but still doesn't detract from this deal

          • @ricee007: Ya the 7X Solar sapphires were about $999 for a few places.

Usually indicates the next gen models are about to come through (since the sale was untethered to black friday etc)

Not sure if the number 8 is bad luck in Chinese like 4 so probably see some Fenix 8s soon

          • @ricee007: What features am I missing? Also yeah it was $999 with a 10% additional coupon, so it was $898, not quite as low as I stated but still good.

  • Just FYI - Link goes to a 7S, not a 7. Different size device if anyone cares…

    • Apologies. Fixed it. Thanks.
The price is the same for 7 and 7s.

  • Anyone used the 7s? Do you think it makes using the touch screen functions any harder (would you have preferred to get the bigger screen)?

    • +1

A friend of mine has the 7s. Touch works fine however she disabled it right away. The Garmin watches have the advantage of having robust 5 buttons which are way easier to use than trying to fiddle with touch during the run etc.
The only benefit I can see would be when using maps but again you can manipulate the maps using buttons (but a tad harder to do)
Let me know if you have any other questions

      • cheers

The price at checkout is AU $1,528.85, so, unless one has eBay plus, that advertised price in the title is unobtainable.

Use NOV15 like the post indicates

  • Do these offer wireless charging?

    Getting mixed results when googling.

    • No wireless charging. Battery will last 2-3 weeks

For the hardcore ozbargainers out there, most of us could get away with a used/new garmin 6 model. Mine still does everything I need and in hindsight, I probably could have bought a used garmin 5 really…

Spend the extra cash on something worthwhile, like fashionable clothing so you look the part /s

    • +1

This isnt for a usual user , it's top of the line product that's overkill for most but if you want a longer battery and sturdy construction and you have deep pockets then get it

    • The torch in the 7x Pro makes it worthwhile over the 6x Pro.. Not even joking it's that good.

    • My 5 has no Garmin pay which sucks. I really miss that. You're probably right about the 6 tho

      • Do you do any activities where you phone doesn't go with you though? I always take it in case I get injured or crash and need a ride home. The only time it's really saved me is when I forget my phone/wallet and it's usually when I got to woolies or something not sport related. So I don't think you're missing much if you do things this way.

        • I hardly ever take my phone riding, and never running.

          • @9839002: Did you or someone just down vote me for a difference in use case and opinion? This place is getting worse than reddit.

            • @mit: Wasn't me but yes it seems that way
