    Any recommendations for ice cream that doesn't foam up when you put it in a milkshake mixer? I bought Peters recently and you end up with weird foam.

      I think Bulla has changed recently it used to be really nice but now it won't even freeze & Stays soft gooey mess not buying again .

        agree, you couldn't scoop it up into a cone and it turns to slop in a bowl instantly, not going to hold too good this summer/christmas time.

        Probably because like all modern day junk cheap multi litre tubs, first the ice cream has more sugar than ever, and next there's so much air whipped in it. I once bought a tub from coles, it was sealed as the piece that connects the edge wasn't broken off yet. I twas 60% full…

        Brought it back, they told me, yeah likely it was kept out of freezer for a bit while they were packing, melted, then freezed again, so you lose all the whipped air, and you're left with the real amount.

    Just pay a few dollars more and get any of the 2lt Golden North Ice Cream's.

    It's actual real Ice Cream and they haven't changed their recipe in over 50 years.

        There's some random Golden North ice cream at the IGA near me in Sydney, but that's because it's franchised by an SA company and they stock a few SA things

        IGA has the exclusive rights for them in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA (I never have an issue finding it in Sydney myself).

        Available in all supermarkets in SA except Aldi apparently, the lucky bastards.

      They don't want to sell to us east coasters. I noticed years ago (around 2016) they were starting to sell in IGA, I emailed both IGA and Golden North and confirmed with them the flavour (Boysenberry) I was after, but they would not email me back to tell me where I could get it. I emailed them twice. Their loss.

      This happened when there was no boysenberry flavour in the market after Bulla pulled theirs, but not long after this mishap, Bulla brought it back so I didnt pursue it further with GN. Again, their loss.
